Introduction:

The following report serves to provide an overview of the operations, accomplishments, and financial standing of the HIRA Foundation ended 31 March 2023.

Mission Statement:

The HIRA Foundation is dedicated to

Hirā’ Institute is a specialist Qur’an institute based in the heart of Leicester, England. The objective & aim of the institute is to promote all aspects related to the Qur’an with a special focus on memorisation with Tajwīd (correct recitation of the Qur’an) & the study of the 10 Qirāāt (different dialects of the Qur’an) with a chain of narration.

Key Achievements:

By the grace of Allāh, Hirā’ Institute opened its doors in October 2021 with the sole aim of serving the needs of every member of our community. We are an integral part of the local community and aspire to equip our children, their parents and the wider community with the tools they need to grow up and succeed with the Qur’ān in their hearts, minds, and actions, in keeping with the teachings of our beloved Prophet صىل هللا عي ه و س لم who said: “The best amongst you is the ل one who learns the Qur’ān and teaches it.” *Bukhari+

Hirā’ Institute is a forward-thinking provider of Qur’ānic education in Leicester. Teaching and learning is the core purpose of what we do as an Institute and therefore we are committed to ensuring that we provide the highest quality of teaching and learning standards, which is supported by exceptional staff professional development.

Future Plans:

By the grace of Allāh, our Qur’ān and Qirā’āt Madrassah was founded in 2014 by its founder and principal Qāri Khalil Ahmad Aswat. The Madrassah began with a handful of eager students at the household of Qāri Khalil Sahib.

As years went by and the number of students started to increase, the Madrassah then moved to premises at Bannerman Road, Leicester with Five Hifdh classes.

By the end of September 2021, we were looking for a bigger premises due the increase in the number of students. Alhamdulillah, with the help of our well-wishers, we moved in October 2021 to a more spacious and comfortable premises located on Halsbury Street in the heart of Leicester.

Currently, the Madrassah has Five Hifdh classes for Boys. From the 3rd of January 2022, we initiated he Girls Hifdh Class and Islamic education classes (Maktab) for young boys (4-10 yrs) and young girls

(4-16yrs). All our teachers are certified Qur’ān educators who are Hafidh of the Qur’ān and have Ijāzah (licence) in the memorisation and recitation of the Holy Qur’ān.

Alhamdulillah to date, the Madrassah has produced numerous students who have memorised the entire Qur’ān to heart. These students have gone on to participate in Qur’ān competitions locally and abroad as well as lead the Tarawīh prayer during the Holy month of Ramadan.

We pray that Allāh bless and give success to all those who have supported the institute in its endeavour. Āmīn
