This is the annual report for the Maximus Foundation UK (1198262). This report has been prepared to reflect the period 01.10.2024 – 30.09.2025
Summary and context

➢ Maximus Foundation UK was established and registered in March 2022 as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

➢ The assets of the previous charity Maximus Foundation UK (registered charity 1160326) were transferred to the new Maximus Foundation UK on the 2nd of October 2023.

➢ Since March 2022, the Board of Trustees has continued to provide grants to charities across the UK, whilst working together to set up systems, and reforming the charities strategy and direction.

➢ The charity is primarily funded by donations from Maximus UK Services Ltd and its employees through a combination of fundraising and payroll giving.
Transfer of funds from Maximus Foundation UK 1160326 to Maximus Foundation UK 1198262 took place on 2.10.2023.
What is Maximus Foundation UK set up to do?
Maximus Foundation UK is set up to support those in need and provides grants to other charities. The aim is to enhance the opportunities available to people and communities, helping charitable organisations to enhance their offer to their beneficiaries.
The objects of the CIO are, for the public benefit:

The relief and assistance of those in need in any part of the UK by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage: and

• The advancement of such other exclusively charitable purposes (according to the law of England and Wales) as the trustees may in their discretion think fit, particularly but not exclusively by making grants to organisations.
How does Maximus Foundation UK work to meet the charitable purpose? Maximus Foundation UK provides monetary donations of £2,500 to charities who are nominated and voted for by Maximus UK colleagues.
Whilst taking colleague feedback into consideration, the trustees select suitable charities to receive donations.

Charities who meet the Maximus Foundation UK objectives are selected and awarded; this supports them to deliver vital services / support across the UK.

Maximus Foundation UK shares and promotes the work of the charities across the Maximus colleague community and highlights the impact of the funds.

Maximus UK continues to support the Maximus Foundation UK, ensuring the vital work of the charity can continue. This is both with respect to providing direct financial support and in addition enabling colleagues' time to support and contribute to the work of the charity.

Any colleague who donates to the Maximus Foundation UK during fundraising cycles or via payroll giving or the payroll pennies scheme, will have their donation match-funded by Maximus UK.

Maximus UK provides additional support to the Maximus Foundation, by providing guidance, expertise and ensuring colleagues can spend time supporting the charity as both Trustees and Volunteers and supporting fundraising campaigns.
What is achieved because of the work of the Maximus Foundation UK?
Charitable impact:

Maximus Foundation UK has awarded £15,000 in grants during this reporting period to charities across the UK.

The charities the Maximus Foundation supported all provide essential services and additional support to people across the UK when they need it most. Funds are provided for charities to use in the way they feel adds the most impact to their beneficiaries.

Charities share with Maximus Foundation UK the impact that the donation will make; they will often keep in touch and provide updates on their wider priorities.

As the charity develops, the Board of Trustees are keen to identify other ways to support charities, one of which is by promoting their causes / work across the Maximus community.

Within this financial year, Maximus Foundation UK provided cheques of £2500 to 6 UK based charities.
Direct feedback highlighting the impact donations make to charities and their beneficiaries:

Donating £2,500 to Compton Care has ensured that they can continue to provide specialist palliative and bereavement support to patients and their families.

Providing £2,500 to Our Dementia Choir has enabled choir members to attend rehearsals. Transport for people living with Dementia is often overlooked as an essential part of care, but it is key to supporting them to access vital services and interventions. Access to the choir is essential for wellbeing and provides meaningful engagement for those living with Dementia.

The £2500 cheque donated to Crohn’s and Colitis will enable service users to continue providing access to community events both in person and online. The charity provides a helpline and last year launched a new Patient Education Programme to help people self-manage their conditions.

Gloves not gangs , based in Ellesmere Port, make a meaningful difference by empowering young people across the community to foster teamwork, guiding them toward positive futures. The cheque donation provided by the Maximus Foundation will help ensure equipment and facilities are available to support this mission.

Tiny Tickers received a donation of £2,500, to support their commitment to helping babies with congenital heart defects (CHD) and their families. The money donated by the Maximus Foundation enables Tiny Tickers to deliver life-saving training, provide vital resources to families, and remain adaptable to emerging challenges.

The Brain Tumour Charity is a research-led charity whose aim is to find cures for all brain tumors so that no one’s life expectancy is dictated by their tumor. They aim to half the average years of life lost to a brain tumor from 27.3 years (2015) to 13.6 years by 2030. The charity will use the donation of £2,500 to support salary costs of the support team workers.
Impact on Maximus UK colleague community and Maximus UK

The work of the Maximus Foundation enables and encourages colleagues to support charities in the communities where they live and work. Colleagues are encouraged to nominate a charity to receive a charitable grant. Historically, the Maximus Foundation has facilitated two grant giving rounds per year. The Trustee Board has held discussions to review this approach, introducing additional grant giving rounds since the end of this reporting cycle.

For the charities who are selected, the nominee is invited to attend a cheque presentation, which enables them to connect further with the charity. Colleagues can see first-hand the impact that the charity is making and hear how the donation from the Maximus Foundation will make a difference. The colleague is also able to share their personal journey about why the charity holds meaning for them.

Many of the charities that have received donations keep in touch and share regular or upcoming events.

Colleagues at Maximus who participate in volunteering days will often nominate the charities they support, to receive a grant from the Maximus Foundation to enhance their work.

Colleagues have the opportunity to donate money to the Maximus Foundation via payroll giving, payroll pennies or fundraisers.

Maximus UK demonstrates a commitment to social value and to enhancing the communities they serve, through their support of the Maximus Foundation.

As colleague nominations sit at the heart of the grant giving model, the charities support represents the needs of the communities where Maximus colleagues live and work, enhancing the colleague’s wellbeing offer.

To help build a closer engagement with colleagues across Maximus, a new Executive Committee Chair was appointed by the Maximus Foundation board in March 2025.

Objectives and activities
Our main objective is to support people in need, providing meaningful grants to charities across the UK.
Maximus UK provides extensive funding to the Maximus Foundation UK, both in terms of their support financially and providing colleagues with flexibility to participate in activities relating to the charity and fundraising objectives.
This charitable entity is newly formed, and external trustees continue to serve and contribute to the Maximus Foundation UK board.
As part of the new set up, we held a strategy day in March 2024, where we discussed our aims and objectives for the charity. We have since followed this with additional strategy discussions, in person meetings (11[th] September 2025) and discussed ways to build and develop.
We have continued to drive forward the initial vision which the board identified for the charity:

Activities which supported our charitable objectives, vision and mission during the reporting period 01.10.2024 – 30.09.2025:

Much of the emphasis for this year has focused on the realignment of the charity’s work.
-
The Maximus Foundation awarded 6 charities with grants of £2500 within this financial reporting year.
-
Whilst this is a contrast to the 26 awards made in the previous year, this is due to when payments were made across the financial year. Money was issued to charities on 2[nd] October 2025, which fell just outside of this reporting period.
-
Following discussions as a board, we made the decision to move to quarterly donation cycles and have continued with this approach since 2025.
-
We were delighted to see an increase in colleagues actively fundraising to support the foundation. In August 2024, Maximus colleagues organised a football tournament and raised over £1000 for the charity as part of the ‘Move it for Maximus’ campaign. In 2025, the same team once again held an event to raise additional funds for the Foundation. The second event raised more than £1900.00. In addition to the event, colleagues promoted their model on an ‘All Colleague’ call to Maximus teams and created a promotional video to encourage others to get involved.

Other colleagues pledged support by completing individual fundraising events; a colleague chose to run the London Marathon and donate to the Charity. They pledged support to the Maximus Foundation, and their fundraising efforts were match-funded by Maximus. It was also great to learn that this colleague nominated a charity that was meaningful to them, who later went on to receive a donation of £2500.00

Another Maximus colleague raised money through a bike ride, securing more than £2000 in funds.

We are grateful to all Maximus colleagues who organised events and those who participated, fundraised and donated.

The board has met regularly to discuss the charity and continued to provide funds to charities across the UK, whilst also continuing to establish a new charitable organisation to replace the previous Maximus Foundation UK.

The spotlights below show the impact the donations have had on some of the charities we supported:
Compton Care is a local charity that offers support and end-of-life care for patients, their families, and networks. It relies on fundraising and grants to keep going. They offer a range of services for the individual who has a life limiting illness – this could be as an inpatient where the team will ensure all their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met. Providing them with a comfortable place to say goodbye to their family and friends. The £2,500 grant donation made a big difference to Compton Care, ensuring that they can continue to provide specialist palliative and bereavement support to patients and their families. Also, it enables Doctors, Nurses and specialist teams both on the inpatient unit and out in the community in patient’s own homes.
Our Dementia Choir began as part of a documentary created for BBC1 in 2018. The twopart series saw acclaimed actress Vicky McClure take us on a deeply personal journey where she sets out to discover the true
extent of music’s power in combatting Dementia. Vicky knows only too well the cruelty of Dementia, having helped care for her grandma who died in 2015. In 2018, Vicky formed a choir of people living with dementia in her hometown of Nottingham to see whether music can make a measurable difference in their lives.
The generous funding of £2,500 from the Maximus Foundation enables choir members to attend rehearsals. Transport for people living with Dementia is often overlooked as an essential part of care, but it is key to supporting them to access vital services and

interventions that enable them to live well, such as Our Dementia Choir. Their core values as a charity are enabling people with Dementia to be enriched, and with Maximus Foundation’s kind support it will enable them as a charity to live that value.
Crohn’s & Colitis UK is a dedicated charity supporting people affected by Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, the two main forms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Their mission is to improve lives today and work towards a world free from Crohn’s and Colitis. The £2,500 donation was used to bring people together as a community for those living with Crohn’s and Colitis, by way of volunteer led social events, and in-person local network events.
Part of this mission is also to provide key patient information and emotional support to those affected (e.g., through the running of their Helpline, Patient Information service). Launch a pioneering new Patient Education Programme to help people self-manage their conditions better. Work with health partners towards earlier diagnosis and better health services and drive lifechanging research that will advance testing, treatments, and move us closer to finding a cure.
The Brain Tumour Charity
Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under forty. For people with fast-growing tumours, the charity’s aim is to half the average years of life lost to a brain tumour from 27.3 years (2015) to 13.6 years by 2030. The charity uses oneyear survival rates as an early indicator of their progress. For people with slow growing tumours, the charity aims to determine a benchmark and baseline it, then double survival by 2030. As a research-led charity, they aim to find cures for all brain tumours so that no one’s life expectancy is dictated by their tumour. The donation from the Maximus Foundation of £2,500 was to be spent on the salary costs of the support team workers.

Financial review

The Trustee board regularly reviews the finances for the Maximus Foundation UK and there is an agenda slot at each meeting to do this. Finances are usually presented by the Treasurer with an opportunity for questions.

The financial report has been provided on a separate document and reviewed by an independent examiner.
Financial reserves

The Maximus Foundation UK currently holds reserves amounting to £228,995.
-
As a newly formed charity, the Maximus Foundation UK board has focused on setting up the new entity and understanding the colleague-led model, which generates charitable income.

The board has discussed the charities approach to the reserves. At the AGM in July 2026, a 3-year plan has been agreed, which allocates an appropriate number of donations each year to provide sustainability over time.

The closing balance as of 30 September 2025 was £228,995, with all funds held in two HSBC accounts under Maximus UK’s umbrella agreement.
Independent Examiner Update:

Deepesh Patel, a Chartered Management Accountant, was appointed as the independent examiner at the AGM on 15[th] July 2025 ahead of the financial year.

Deepesh Patel conducted a thorough review of the charity’s accounts and financial report. Following his review, he signed to confirm his approval of the accounts.
The financial report was presented to the Trustees at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for review, approval, and sign-off. This meeting was held on 2[nd] July 2026.
During this meeting, the board unanimously agreed to appoint Deepesh Patel as the independent examiner for the next financial year.
Structure, Governance and Management
During the set-up of the charity, we have utilised support from Maximus UK regarding policies and procedures, to follow overarching principles and practices. This has enabled us to ensure we are able to continue to provide grants to charities across the UK during this time.
We are currently in the process of reviewing the policies and practices which are in place as the board becomes more established.

The Executive Committee, a group of Maximus colleague representatives, supports the charity on a voluntary basis. They assist with the work of the trustees and actively engage with Maximus' colleague community. There are currently 5 colleagues who work as volunteers on the Executive Committee.
In addition to this, other Maximus colleagues from across teams such as the Marketing and Communications teams also volunteer their time to support and promote the work of the Maximus Foundation UK alongside their roles.
As well as the model for colleague engagement, there is regular collaboration between Maximus' UK Senior Leadership team and the Maximus Foundation Charity. During this reporting period, monthly meetings were scheduled with the UK Divisional President, UK Finance Director, Maximus Foundation Chair and Treasurer to discuss updates and raise areas of support needs.

Trustee Recruitment:
We have adopted the principles and support from the Maximus UK recruitment and selection policy and teams when recruiting Trustees for the Maximus Foundation UK.
The Trustees have been supported by the Maximus UK recruitment team, who have advertised any opportunities via the Maximus recruitment portal and on social media channels.
We hold a job description for the Trustee role, which has been reviewed and agreed upon by trustees, and this is used as the basis for any recruitment.
During the selection process, information for applicants is gathered by the Maximus UK resourcing team and shared with the Maximus Foundation UK board for review. Following this, a selection criteria is used to identify suitable applicants. Selected applicants are invited to attend an interview, with a minimum of 2 board members, where several predetermined questions are asked.
The decision to appoint is made by the Trustees and following any appointment; candidates are subject to vetting in the form of a DBS check. This is completed by the Maximus UK Vetting teams.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 30/09/2025

Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
