This is the annual report of the Maximus Foundation UK (1198262).
This report has been prepared to reflect the period (01.10.2022 – 30.09.2023)
Maximus Foundation UK was first registered in March 2022. Previously The Maximus Foundation UK operated as a registered charity 1160326. Following an independent review, a new charity in the form of a CIO (1198262) was set up and created.
Since March 2022, Maximus Foundation board of trustees have been setting up the appropriate practices, establishing a new board and reforming the charities strategy.
The Transfer of financial funds from Maximus Foundation UK (1160326) took place on 2.10.2023.
The charity is primarily funded by the Maximus UK colleague community and Maximus UK. This annual report period covers the handover and transition from the old to the new entities, following the set-up of the new charitable trust.
What is Maximus Foundation UK set up to do?
Maximus Foundation UK is set up to support disadvantaged people in need, across the UK.
The aim of the charities work is to support charitable organisations throughout the UK, who are providing support for people who are disadvantaged.
The charity achieves this primarily by supplying charities with grants for £2500.00 to support their beneficiaries.
The objects of the CIO are, for the public benefit:

The relief and assistance of those in need in any part of the UK by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage: and

The advancement of such other exclusively charitable purposes (according the law of England and Wales) as the trustees may in their discretion think fit, particularly but not exclusively by making grants to organisations.
How does Maximus Foundation UK work to meet the charitable purpose?

Maximus Foundation UK provides monetary grants of £2500 to charities who are nominated and voted for by Maximus UK colleagues. The trustees, with input from payroll givers then select an appropriate number of charities to receive grants.

• Charities who meet the Maximus Foundation UK objectives are selected and awarded to support them in delivering vital services and support across the UK.

Maximus Foundation UK shares and promotes the work of the charities across the Maximus colleague community and highlights the impact of the funds.

Maximus UK promotes regular fundraising events for colleagues, promoting group and individual activities, and the opportunity to support and promote charitable work. This is part of the organisational values. The Maximus Foundation supports and leads on the promotion of the fundraisers and the benefits of charity support.

Charitable Impact

The (old) Maximus Foundation UK has continued to awarded grants during this financial year period to charities across the UK. This new entity has supported to manage and facilitate grants as part of the handover.

The charities who have been provided with grants are all supporting people who are in need and providing vital funds for those charities to use in the way they feel adds the most impact.

This enables Maximus Foundation UK to create a wide reach of support across charities who support different individuals and also across a wide geographical area.

Impact on Maximus UK colleague community

Maximus colleagues are engaging and supportive of charitable work across communities where they work and deliver services

As part of the new charity set up, we have introduced a new colleague board (Executive committee) gathering input and engagement from colleagues on behalf of Maximus. Many of whom have not been involved in charitable work before.

Maximus colleagues are able to support charities who are meaningful for them, by nominating them for charitable grants.

Plans have been made to build and develop relationships across the colleague community to support the future vision of the foundation.
Impact for Maximus UK

Maximus UK provides the funding to the Maximus Foundation UK, in order to enable the vital work of the charity.

Maximus UK provides support and expertise to the Maximus Foundation, financially and in addition by providing support and expertise.

The contributions provided by Maximus UK, enables the business to demonstrate the social value being added through their support of the foundation.

Maximus UK has welcomed the expertise provided via the new board, including welcoming two external trustees who have knowledge and experience across the charity sector.
Summary
As this board is newly developed and the old board has been finalising the closure, the charity has been in a period of transition.
Funds were transferred to the new charity after the date of this reporting period and therefore impact and contributions to report are limited.
Whilst there is no financial reporting for this period, the trustees’ have been working to support the set-up of the new charity.

Objectives and activities have remained in line with the previous Maximus Foundation UK, to ensure continuity in terms of fundraising, providing vital funds to charities and supporting the future aspirations.
Twice annual fundraising has taken place and cheque presentations were made under the previous Maximus Foundation UK accounts.
