The charity carried a number of activities in the year 2022-2023 such as:

## **Flood Appeal Pakistan:**

The recent floods in Pakistan have resulted in an unprecedented climate anomaly that has led to a manmade disaster due to mismanagement and severe distrust of political leadership. Millions of people are forced to use unsafe water, causing a rise in cases of diarrhea, malaria, and typhoid. The crisis has also led to a loss of livestock and crops, further driving up food insecurity in Pakistan and beyond. The government and international aid organizations are working to provide relief, but the timeline for the flooding to recede is estimated to take as long as six months, leading to worrying consequences for public health.

In addition to the government and international aid efforts, our organization has also taken an initiative to help those affected by the floods in Pakistan. We have provided around 20000 GBP in support of relief and rehabilitation efforts to assist the affected communities in rebuilding their lives. We believe that it is important to come together as a global community to support those in need during times of crisis, and we are committed to doing our part in providing assistance to those affected by this disaster.

## **Ramazan Iftari Meals:**

Ramzan is a holy month for Muslims, during which they fast from sunrise to sunset. The breaking of the fast, or iftari, is a significant event for Muslims and is often marked with communal meals shared with family, friends, and those in need.

Syeda Fatimia Trust has taken the initiative to provide iftari meals to those in need in Pakistan during the month of Ramzan. These meals are distributed to communities in areas that are particularly vulnerable to poverty and hunger, including refugee camps, slum areas, and villages, as well as flood relief camps.

4

The iftari meals provided by Syeda Fatimia Trust are not only nutritious but also a source of comfort and hope for those who are struggling to make ends meet. The initiative is an example of the generosity and compassion of people who are willing to make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate.

Through Syeda Fatimia Trust's efforts, many families and individuals in Pakistan have been able to break their fast with a warm and fulfilling meal, and this has helped to bring a sense of community and togetherness during a time that can be challenging for many.

## **FoodPacks:**

The food packs provided by Syeda Fatimia Trust are not only a source of nutrition but also a source of hope for those who are struggling to make ends meet. They offer some relief to families who often have to choose between paying for basic needs like food or healthcare. These food packs contain essential items like rice, flour, lentils, oil, and sugar, among other things, which can help feed a family for a week or more. They are distributed to communities in areas that are particularly vulnerable to poverty and hunger, including refugee camps, slum areas, and villages.

Our Charity's efforts have been able to provide food packs to thousands of families in need, and this has helped to alleviate some of the hardship that poverty brings. The initiative is an example of the generosity and compassion of people who are willing to make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate.

## **Health Care:**

Syeda Fatimia Trust runs a medical clinic in Pakistan that provides basic health care facilities and advice to those in need. The clinic is able to operate throughout the year thanks to donations from generous individuals.

The clinic offers a range of services, including check-ups, consultations, and treatment for common ailments such as fever, cough, and flu. In addition to this, the clinic also provides support for those with chronic illnesses such as diabetes and high blood pressure. One area of focus for the clinic is eye problems.

The medical clinic is a lifeline for many in the community who would otherwise have limited access to basic health care. The dedication and hard work of the medical staff and volunteers, along with the support of donors, are helping to make a real difference in the lives of those in need.

## **Orphanage:**

The charity has donated money to an orphanage in Pakistan, providing essential resources such as food, clothing, books, and toys to children in need. This support has helped improve the quality of life for these children, providing them with a sense of normalcy and a supportive environment. The donation has allowed the orphanage to continue providing these critical resources and services to vulnerable children who may have otherwise gone without. It shows the impact that charities can have on vulnerable populations and the power of philanthropy to make a difference in the world.

## **Achievements and Performance**

At our charity, we are proud to have achieved significant milestones in our efforts to support those in need. Through our clinics, we have been able to provide free medication to approximately 10,00012,000 individuals every month. During Ramadan, we provided iftar meals to approximately 200 people daily, amounting to a total of 6,000 individuals.

Additionally, we have been providing ongoing support to 380 orphans annually, helping to ensure they have access to the care and resources they need to thrive. During times of crisis, such as floods, we have also been able to provide aid to those affected, supporting 1,300 individuals and 500 families.

None of these achievements would have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our trustees. Our trustees have been instrumental in supporting our mission and ensuring that our resources are used effectively to help those in need. They have worked tirelessly to guide and support our organization, providing the vision, leadership, and strategic direction necessary to achieve these significant milestones.

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS REPORT**

## **FOR THE PERIOD 14 MAR 2022 TO 13 MAR 2023**

## **TO THE TRUSTEES**

I report on the accounts for the period 14[th ] March 2022 to 13[th] March 2023 set out below.

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**

The charity’s trustees responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for the period (under Section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act)) and that an independent examination is required.

Having satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to audit and is eligible for independent examination, it is my responsibility to:

- Examine the accounts

- Follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under Section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act); and

- To state weather particular matters have come to my attention.

## **Basis of the independent examiner’s report**

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

## **Independent examiners statement**

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

- (1) Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements have not been met;

or

- (2) To which. In my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
