strength to strength. Over the last 12 months. we are delighted to have welcomed
well over 100,000 visitors to our beautiful pier, from all four ￿rnerS of the world, and
of course from our local community. where our pier remains a comerstone of our
beloved city. Our efforts this year have enabled us to raise the funds to rebuild
lookout kiosk. which will be named the 'Friends of Bangor Garth Pier Lookout Kiosk,
and will bring great enjoyment to the pier community and is an achievement of which
we are very proud.

2. Main activities in relatlon to those purposes for the public benefit. in particular,
the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts.
Our charlty was established in March 2022 arml this report represents our second
Annual Report.
The activities, projects and services identified in our accounts are as follows:
Running a gift shop in one of the pierfs kiosks, stsffed entirely by our
volunteers with the aim of producing profits to be used to contribute towards
the physical restoration of the pier.
Providing the welcoming presence at the plerfs entrance kiosk. run in entirely
by volunteers.

the pier for Christmas & Christmas Con￿rt, Christmas Santa's Grotto.
IV. Other Fundraising activities including Sponsor a light for Christmas and
applying for grants and sponsorship from local businesses or organisations to
support specffic events or activities.
Donations
Any profits thal we make hdp to fund specffic projects on Ihe pier to protect,
preserve, restore or improve its facilities or to advance the education of the public in
understanding the history. heritsge and locatron of Bangor Garth Pier.

3. Public beneflt
The actions carried out by our charity are dectded upon and agreed in order to
ensure that they fulfil our purposes, induding the provision of identifiable benefits to
the general public who visit the pier. This indudes a welcoming presence at the
entrance kiosk to the pier and the opportunity to visit our gift shop. both of which are
manned by our body of volunteers.
By enabling members of the local community to become volunteers of the charity,
and undertake duties on the pier, we are fuffilling a very important benefit to
individuals to both contribute to their local community and to join a community of
volunteers giving them a sense of purpose and contributing to their well-being.
4. Contribution made by volunteers
Volunteers make a very significant contribution to our ability to undertake all our
activities. Our volunteer coordinator coordinates the activities of two groups of
volunteers (60 in total) who are responsible for operating both the gift shop and the
entrance kiosk.
The presence of our volunteers at the entran￿ kiosk, on a daily basis, has resulted
in a very significant increase in income from entrance fees. which contribute towards
the annual costs of routine pier maintenance and upkeep.
The volunteers also play an irnportanl role in enabling us to run our programme of
events on the pier.
Having the ability to participate in pier life as a volunteer is a significant part of the
public benefit to the local community enabled by our charity.
