EALTA aims to advance language education for the public in general by promoting the understanding of theoretical principles of language testing and assessment, and the improvement and sharing of testing and assessment practices throughout Europe and amongst educators and the public globally.
Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are To Contribute To Language Education For The Public In General By Promoting The Understanding Of Theoretical Principles Of Language Testing And Assessment, And The Improvement And Sharing Of Testing And Assessment Practices Throughout Europe And Amongst Educators And The Public Globally. The CIO Aims To Represent Those Involved In Language Testing And Assessment At A European Level, Including In The European Union And The Council Of Europe, In Particular By:1. Sharing Professional Expertise In Language Testing And Assessment2. Increasing Public Understanding Of Language Testing And Assessment3. Promoting Recognition Of Language Testing And Assessment As A Professional Discipline Throughout Europe And Beyond4. Improving Language Testing And Assessment Systems And Practice In Europe And Beyond By Providing Training In Language Testing And Assessment5. Making Expertise In Language Testing And Assessment Readily Available For The Solution Of Assessment Problems6. Developing Links With Other Groups Interested In Language Testing And Assessment7. Engaging In Other Activities For The Improvement Of Language Testing And Assessment In Europe And Beyond
