THE NEW RESTORED PENTECOSTAL CHURCH Reports and Financial Statements for the year ended 31ST MARCH 2024

Trustees report

The Trustees' present their report and financial statements for the above period.

The year 2023 started off on a sad note for the church as we had one of our very dedicated members, Mrs Peacock who was diagnosed with cancer in March and she passed away in May whilst she was in the care of St Peter's Hospice. In honour of our dedicated member, we donated £200 to St Peter's Hospice Bristol who did a wonderful job of caring for our very loved member in her last days. St Peter's Hospice is a Charity that supports cancer patients by providing hospital beds for them in their homes and supports them till their last day.

The death of our member left us feeling deflated, but we managed to pick ourselves up later in the year and looked into what we could do in the community and city we live in. We got in touch with St. Mungo's which is a Charity that provides night shelter to the homeless in Bristol to find out how we could support the great work they are doing. St Mungo's offers beds to individuals experiencing homelessness for a short period and they do not charge for their services. They take people who are referred to them by other charities and we can make referrals to them as well. At the point of writing this report, plans are underway to take donations of items that St Mungo's highlighted that they need, and we will donate to them. We will be collecting bedding stuff, toiletries and towels as these are things they need most.

Our church membership is made up of people from different backgrounds in the community including single parents. We managed to offer help and support to single mothers in providing food, gas and electricity during the very cold winter months. We continue to work with single parents and signposting them to organisations that can assist in areas we are not able to assist them; for example, helping them to apply to be on the Council Housing register and supporting them through the bidding process.

We also managed to gather up children in the church during the summer holiday for a day out to Ninja Warrior and this proved to be very popular as they had a great time. We still had to put the football games during the school holidays on hold due to challenges of transportation as the children live in different locations so bringing them together would require a minibus.

The church has continued to grow as we welcomed Pastor Polite and Pastor Talia Mashiri who have volunteered to join us along with their two children this year. Their coming in has lifted off a lot of pressure from the senior leaders of the church as they continue with the main purpose of the church which is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ which brings salvation to mankind through outreach work and helping those in need.

Apart from engaging in the activities in the community, we also focused on setting up policies and dealing with the day-to-day administration of the church. Overall, we can say the year was a great success.
