## **THE NEW RESTORED PENTECOSTAL CHURCH Reports and Financial Statements for the year ended 31ST MARCH 2023**

## **Trustees report**

The Trustees' present their report and financial statements for the above period.

The purposes of the charity is as set out in its governing document: To spread the gospel of Jesus Christ which brings salvation to mankind through outreach work and helping those in need by donations and signposting them to relevant organisations.

This year we carried out our first donation to help women and babies fleeing war in Ukraine. We donated baby food, milk, nappies, toiletries and sanitary items. As a Charity we will make every endeavour to reach out to help those who are in need in any way we can.

In 2022 we also did street evangelism in Fishponds. We had printed flyers that we handed out to the public telling them about the church and what we do. This was a way to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. During our evangelism we got to realise how much people need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We conducted a church barbecue on Saturday, August 6, 2022. Attendees included church members as well as their community acquaintances who were also bringing their children. It was heartening to see young and old together, and the bouncy castle proved to be a big hit. The Church now marks this as an annual occasion.

We got together in the park on multiple occasions over the August 2022 school break to play football with children from our church and the neighbourhood. The days were pleasant, and everyone had a good time. We are now in the process of assembling a squad and arranging for the team to be connected to other local sports organisations in Bristol. The problem is that our team needs a minibus to get about.

We held our International Sunday in September 2022. This is an occasion to honour the various ethnic groups that make up our church and the neighbourhood. Participants dressed traditionally, and traditional cuisine was provided after the event while everyone interacted with neighbours and church members. After a successful inaugural international Sunday, we will add this annual event to the church schedule due to popular demand.

During the Christmas season in December 2022, the church also aided local single mothers with children by providing food hampers and gas and electricity assistance. We plan to keep doing this every year, and we would especially like to thank our committed members who contribute when they can.

As new families join the church, the New Restored Pentecostal Church continues to expand. One of the issues we are now dealing with is transportation. Two of our members are wheelchair users. Certain members depend on assistance with transportation to attend church and return home; if the person they depend on is unavailable on that specific day, they may miss certain events. Although the church typically pays for taxis, doing so has come at a significant financial cost. It would be highly beneficial to have a minibus to aid with this issue.

I think the year has gone well overall, and we are grateful for that.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report:**

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner's statement:**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
