at paediatric brain tumours and more
specifically ependymoma brain tumours.

Key projects supported during the year
include;
1. To providing respite breaks for families
whose child has been diagnosed with a
brain tumour or families bereaved
because of a childhood brain tumour.
2. The Combat Research Project, which is
aimed at helping to better inform
families whose child is diagnosed with a
paediatric brain tumour, by supporting
Hospitals (e.g. Alder Hey Children's
Hospital) and/or Charities (e.g. The
Brain Tumour Charity, Brain Tumour
Research) to carry out future research
into the treatment of childhood brain|

ependymomas.
Since the Charity was formed we have sent
and scheduled respite for 61 families.
We now support the second phase of
research at Alderyhey Children’s Hospital.
Funding the Combat Project research that
will help standardise the reporting of brain

Received income from donations and
fundraising events totalled £95,008,
including donations received through
JustGiving, £46,631.
Costs associated with fundraising events
were £22,219 resulting in available profit of
£72,789 from fundraising for charities
activities.
The above resources of £24,472 were
utilised in providing and scheduled respite
for families,
and
£18,000 to help support the research
project with Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 March 2024.
- **Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner's statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
