at paediatric brain tumours and more
specifically ependymoma brain tumours.

raise funds through donations and
fundraising events such as the sponsored

Key projects supported during the year
include;

To providing respite breaks for families

The Combat Research Project, which is
aimed at helping to better inform
families whose child is diagnosed with a
paediatric brain tumour, by supporting
Hospitals (e.g. Alder Hey Children's
Hospital) and/or Charities (e.g. The
Brain Tumour Charity, Brain Tumour
Research) to carry out future research
into the treatment of childhood brain
tumours, more specifically
ependymomas.

Para 1.20 2023 was a successful first year for the
charity, since our formation and formal
registration as a charity we have:
Received donations totalling £71,384,
including donations received through
JustGiving, £62,132 and Garstang Rugby
Union, £6,104.
Fundraising events income totalled,
£25,588 including £15,000 from LEJOG
and £6,131 from Craig’s Ultra marathons.
Costs associated with fundraising events
were £11,367 resulting in available profit of
£14,220 from fundraising for charities

activities. The above resources were utilised in providing and scheduled respite for 35 families, £20,439 and £12,000 to help support our first research project with Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. Funding ‘the Combat Project’ research that will help standardise the reporting of brain Tumours.
