TRUSTEES, REPORT
FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 31 AUGUST 2023
Achievements and Perfonnance
The trustees are actively trwng to recruit a schools, worker. In spite of several campaigns,
resulting in holding interviews on three separate occasions and interviewing five candidates,
we have not been able to apFM)int a worker.
During the reporting period the trustees, supported by vOlunt￿r$, ran three events, Rewind
to Christmas, Rewind to Easter and Fast Forward. These were either run in individual
schools or in local churches and were attended by a total of 1.320 children. accompanied by
their teachers, representing on average 11 Keighley Primary schools.
Rewind to Christmas tells the Christmas story and Rewind to Easter the story of Good Friday
and Easter Day. They are fast-paced ninety-minute, multimedia programmes developed by
Scripture Union agre8d with schools and indude prayer and reflection. They require a large
amounl of preparation and have significant costs, bul could not be run without the
commitment of our volunteers and the hospitality of th8 churches. Invariably the feedback
from school staff is extremely positive. Our aim is that all primary school children in Keighley
will hear a Christian account of the two major Christian festivals Christrnas and Easter.
Fast Forward is intended to help children with the challenging transition from Year 6 Primary
School to High School.
Vision for the Future
We are continuing to move towards employing a worker. We have considerable flexibility
about this. The wst could be part time. full time orjob share. We note that this would also
be suitable for a candidate who has stepped back from full time teaching for family reasons,
or for a more mature adult. as well as the younger people we have employed in the past.
Any worker we employ will engage with th8 Keighley programme for children X.'site. This
offers out of schod events with Christian content through after school meetings, holiday
clubs and holidays.
We intend to continue to wn the three pr￿JrarnmeS Rewind to Christmas, Rewind to Easter
and Fast Forward. We plan to review and reshape the Fast Forward prograrnme with the
help of our Truste8 Jan Hesselwood VA￿ is on the Bradford SACRE.
We are open to offering a Christian input to RE lessons which have Christian content as part
of the RE syllabus.
We intend to offer Open the Book to schools in Keighley. This is a Bible Society programme
which tells a Bible story during a 15 minute Primary School Act of Collective Worship. It uses
drama. costume and childr8n's participation with a story teller and actors.

We very much value our donors, supporting churches and loyal volunteers who all maintain
the work of CLIKS.
