## Annual General Mee�ng 28[th] May 2024 

Chair welcomed everyone to the mee�ng. 

## **Recap of the previous year – good news** 

Meadow survey course, funded by a Windfall Fund grant and carried out by Lancashire Wildlife Trust was a�ended by 13 people in July. The aim to improve biodiversity in two areas – once at the Pot House Lane entrance near the reserve and the other near the top bench near Haslingden Old Road. 

New bin installed Aug/Sept 23, located near the main gate s�ll being very well used. 

Mowing of the areas happened in September. 

Thanks to Ruth B for her work on Toad patrol the Froglife including le�er to residents. Es�mated 30 deaths in 2023 and 1 in 2024. 

We would like to thank the Civic Society.  Following a dona�on we have recently purchased 35 bird boxes. 

Oswaldtwistle Rotary and Friends of Rhyddings. 

Thanks to Lindsey for producing and sending out the regular newsle�ers. 

## **2023 not so good news** 

Incidents – 2[nd] June 16[th] June 19[th] June. Lindsey has already contacted Hyndburn Neighbourhood Police to advise that some official school proms have been cancelled. Please keep logging any/all incidents with Lancashire Police doitonline.lancashire.police 

Radar lock broken by vandals. 

## **The next 12 months** 

The Balsam bashing programme for 2024 has started with the fortnightly sessions held on Saturdays 10-12 with the next session 8[th] June – sessions running 17[th] August.  Please do be careful where you leave any pulled balsam as it does get quite slippy once crushed. 

would like a �cket, they are £1 each or £3 per strip.  Raffle to be drawn on Saturday 22[nd] June during balsam bashing session. 

HBC are to fund the bridge replacement. 

Further meadow assessment to be carried out Saturday 15[th] June with further mowing sessions likely later this year.
