## **Annual Report for 2022 to 2023 from the Chair on behalf of the Trustees to annual mee�ng 17 May 2023** 

1. Balsam bashing – Members of Friends of Jackhouse, Church and Oswaldtwistle Rotary members and our local home educa�on community volunteered.  We ran weekly sessons from 28/05 – 06/08 

2. Our local bird expert Mark led a bird walk. 

3. The Friends of Rhydding Park – gave us a stall at events in July/August, and put on a fundraising meal in June. 

4. Radar key lock installed by the council on gate. 

5. Paths resurfaced and drains repaired by the council a�er heavy rain damage. 

6. Management Plan 2022-2027. Dra� copy received from Lancashire Wildlife Trust 21/08/22 currently with HBC as the landowner for comment and sign off. 

7. We are now members of Hyndburn Green Spaces Forum. 

8. We have issued regular enewsle�ers to our members. 

9. Prospects Founda�on Hyndburn ran a family walk and a drystone wall course (25/10/22)- 15 a�endees, Halloween bat walk (27/10/22) – 45 a�endees! 

10. Volunteers carried out winter scrub clearing on the meadowland near the lake. 

11. Duke of Edinburgh award – A local young person is doing fortnightly volunteering sessions. 

12. Website to be moved onto Friends of Rhyddings Park website – we welcome collabora�on with other voluntary organisa�ons 

cycle track, drinking, drug, fly �pping and inconsiderate parking 

The main ini�a�ves for next 12 months will be balsam bashing and progressing ac�ons highlighted in the Management Report.
