|||||As tourism started to open up post covid|
|||||we worked<br>hard to end poverty tourism. We|
|||||worked<br>with tour guides on the island ofSal|

|beneficiaries<br>and any wider||||donations.<br>We encouraged<br>tour guides to|
|benefits to society as a||||educate tourists on the poverty faced in|

|||||ourselves<br>for the above reasons and to|
|||||ensure they go to those in most need. This|
|||||has worked<br>well and we are seeing a lot|
|||||less begging<br>in the shanty towns and|
|||||children are attendance<br>ofschool is higher.|
|||||We supported<br>several sports teams and|
|||||associations<br>in Sal and Sao Vicente with|
|||||new football team shirts, used previous|
|||||season team kits, used boots, new quality|
|||||footballs, hoops and basketballs.<br>The|
|||||associations<br>we worked with provide|
|||||support<br>on a variety of projects within their|
|||||communities<br>includin<br>social inclusion,|





|crime prevention,<br>drug/alcohol<br>misuse,|

|sexual education<br>and support for ex-gang|
|members.|
|We also had 10charity fun days, where we|
|invited tourists and local children to enjoy|
|fun games football, basketball<br>and a hot|
|meal together. These proved<br>popular<br>and|
|encouraged<br>social inclusion,<br>the local|
|children are starting to learn not to be|
|fearful of not speaking<br>the language<br>of all|
|nationalities.<br>We are working<br>on a program|
|that will help the local youth be more|
|confidant when they enter the work place.|
|In Cape Verde, children<br>have access to|
|free and compulsory<br>education<br>for 8years|
|however,<br>equipment<br>is not free. We started|
|a project to provide students<br>wii.h the|
|essential school supplies to enable them to|
|fully participate<br>in education.<br>pens, pencils,|
|notepads etc.|
|We provided those in need food parcels,|
|clothing and personal<br>care packages. This|
|was supported<br>by 1500 kg of donations|
|received from tourists<br>using free charity|
|luggage<br>via tui and a shipment<br>of clothing|
|sent from the UK by ourselves.|
