Para 1.20 | The CIO was established and registered on 22 February 2022. For the period covered by this TAR (the second year of the charity), limited direct activity took place in Rwanda, and limited funds were raised and distributed (see the financial summary attached). As this was the second year of operation activity comprised primarily research and liaison with people and organisations in Rwanda, including the local group called 'Self-Advocacy Initiatives for People with Disabilities' (SAID). Visits were made by two Trustees to Rwanda at their own expense. The trip enabled the Trustees to see need first-hand and this led to the charity’s first project grant. The grant enabled SAID to distribute a small amount of money to beneficiaries to either begin or continue income generation opportunities. |
