Mission Statement:

Laura’s Light is committed to supporting individuals affected by mental illness through financial assistance, guidance, education, and rehabilitation services. Our goal is to raise awareness about mental health issues, promote public education, and fund initiatives that provide essential care and support to those in need. We aim to empower both individuals and communities by advancing mental health awareness and facilitating access to crucial resources for recovery and well-being.

Main Activities:

Laura’s Light participated in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, a significant milestone as our first event of this kind. The marathon was a great success, raising essential funds for mental health initiatives and increasing awareness of our mission. Funds raised will help us advance our work in supporting individuals affected by mental health challenges.

Public Benefit:

The funds raised through the London Landmarks Half Marathon will directly support programs that assist individuals affected by mental health challenges, including access to care, education, and rehabilitation services. Additionally, some funds will enable Laura’s Light to participate in similar events in the future, helping us achieve our long-term fundraising goals. By raising awareness and reducing stigma, this activity aligns with our commitment to delivering meaningful public benefit .

Fundraising:

Over the course of the year, Laura’s Light raised more than £17,000 , with a significant portion coming from the London Landmarks Half Marathon . We also received generous support from individuals and businesses, including a local beauty company that contributed through their own fundraising efforts. These combined efforts have enabled us to directly fund mental health initiatives and set the foundation for future fundraising events, ensuring continued support for those in need. Additionally, some funds will be allocated to future fundraising events to sustain and expand our impact.

We also plan to organise one of our own fundraising events, which will help us engage directly with our supporters and build a stronger community. Additionally, we aim to foster closer relationships with the mental health organisations we financially support, with more face-to-face meetings to explore where we can offer further assistance.
