## **Achievements and Performance**

SORP reference The year’s biggest achievement saw Marlow become recognised as England’s first “Bee Town’. Para 1.20 This was celebrated at Marlow’s first Bee Festival. This event was very well-attended and generated widespread awareness of and interest in the challenges faced by bees and other pollinators. The photo competition and the subsequent exhibition and calendar showcased local nature perfectly. Entrants came from right across the age spectrum. These larger activities were supplemented throughout the

year by wildlife themed events, including walks to appreciate swifts, bats, glowworms, bumblebees, wild orchids and butterflies. Work party activities included helping to restore the pond at a local primary school, creating habitats at a local cemetery and continued work on a wildflower area in a local park.
