Section D Achievements and Performance
**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**
- Birmingham BMX Club has encountered difficulties in acquiring clubhouses from British Cycling as the manufacturer went into liquidation. The units remained with the manufacturer's subcontractor due to non-payment. British Cycling is actively exploring funding options to secure the release of the units. In a supportive gesture, the club has offered an additional £2,000 goodwill payment on top of the original £5,000 commitment from the club and ongoing rental fees.
- The club successfully organized a winter series comprising five rounds, providing approximately 1,500 racing opportunities.
- Ongoing consultations with Birmingham City Council have taken place to explore how the club can benefit from the Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund, specifically in relation to the Perry Park redevelopment scheme.
- Birmingham BMX Club hosted the 2022 National Event and stepped in to host an additional round of the Midlands BMX Regional Series on behalf of Rotherham BMX Club.
- The club actively supported volunteers in obtaining and expanding on their coaching badges including at the grassroots level. Notably:
- Lewis Barnes (14) received additional funding from the club to complete his foundations of coaching cycling (level 1). This funding was in addition to what he had already gained from the British Cycling's Flying Start Bursary. As a result, Lewis became the club's youngest coach.
- `o` Alex Shore further expanded his coaching expertise by achieving the esteemed 8m Hill Coaching Badge at the National Cycling Centre. Alex's achievement highlights his and the club's commitment to providing high-quality coaching.
- Mackenzie Rennison has registered on a British Cycling level 2 course in 2023 financed by BBMXC
- Sophie Grahame has registered on a level 2 British Cycling course financed by BBMXC
- Jos Marnham has also registered on a level 2 BC course
- BBMXC continues to value the Learning and Development of its Members with investment in the club coaches.
- Dylan Clayton, a British Cycling Development Coach, continues to collaborate closely with the club, providing ongoing support for its coaching initiatives.

BBMXC principal funds raised are through membership, coaching and events such as Regional / National competitions, other revenue is made by coaching sessions and open track days / private hire.
In addition, the club has a number of sponsors contributing circa £10,000 per annum.
By investing in our club coaches and Facility BBMXC has developed a pathway for all bike riders of all ability’s from beginners to elite level
- investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/03/2023.
