## TREASURER’S REPORT – MIDDLETON by WIRKSWORTH VILLAGE HALL (Charity 1197884) 2025/2026 

Please find a copy of the full, detailed spreadsheet for 1[st] March 2025 to 28[th] February 2026 for Middleton by Wirksworth Village Hall accounts and a copy of the trial balance for the same period. The accounts have kindly been reviewed and accepted by Rob Rawlinson FIMA on 6[th] May 2026. 

We have seen a significant improvement in the financial position this year. This has come about as a result of two factors: 

- i) Electricity expenditure has been significantly reduced under the new EDF contract with far better management of billing on their side although based on estimated readings 

- ii) Much reduced expenditure on repairs/maintenance 

## LLOYDS CURRENT ACCOUNT 

The opening balance in the account at 1[st] March 2025 was £12940.41 

## INCOME 

It has been another successful year for the hall with a total income of some £18,588 for the financial year, an increase of some £614. 

- a) The school continues as a primary source of income providing £9,474 this year 

- b) The Wrestling Club income was £2,740, down slightly 

- c) Theatre group activities raised some £1,691, a significant increase 

- d) Income from ballet was £1,499 

- e) Income from music-related activities was £1,413 

- f) Private parties increased this year to £674 

## EXPENSES 

The total expenditure across the year in running the hall was £16,283, a reduction of £7,772 

- a) Electricity costs of £5,270 much reduced from £10,213 the previous year 

- b) Cleaner and associated costs of £3,730 

- c) Licence costs of £2,774 comprised rental payment to Fisher German for the hall (£2,000) and PPL/PRS music licence 

- d) Repair/maintenance expenditure of £2,089 which included £237 for fire extinguisher servicing, £190 for gardening plus other repairs & maintenance (paints, main door hinge repair, septic tank emptying etc) 

- e) Insurance costs of £1,251 

- f) Sundry expenditure of £574 primarily cleaning products, a new CO monitor etc 

## SUMMARY 

To be carried forward into 2026/2027 accounts, we have:
