This is the 3[rd] Annual Report of the charity. We became a registered CIO on 10[th] February 2022. 

Our registered charity name is Londonderry Baptist Church. 

We recruited our Trustee’s and wanted a mixed board of Trustee’s who could offer up different skill sets and giftings and experience, hence we have a board of Trustee’s who have a variety of skills to enable us to run the charity to its fullest potential.

We are a Christian church who wants to see the advancement of the Gospel. We support a number of churches, who are affiliated with LBC. Our affiliated churches work closely with LBC and the Senior Leader and Eldership team over LBC work closely with all affiliated church congregations.

## **Overview:** 

We are a Christian church who became a CIO in 2022. We promote the Gospel of Jesus. 

We believe: 

- The one true God who lives eternally in three persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. 

- The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world. 

- The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God—fully trustworthy for faith and conduct. 

- The dignity of all people, made male and female in God's image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement. 

- The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ—born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin. 

- The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God. 

- The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world. 

- The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ. 

- The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness. 

- The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers—given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit's gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love. 

- The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth. 

We are committed to enabling as many people as possible into worship at our church and to encourage them to become part of our church community. 

We continually look at how we can engage people within our communities into the church and faith. We provide a number of evangelistic outreach events throughout the year, that are always well attended and supported by our communities. During these events we are able to talk with people share our faith. 

We promote our services and encourage those who are part of LBC and new people to attend, we hold services on Sundays, where we also provide creche, kids and youth provision with a well trained and certified team, we encourage our children and young people to be very much part of our church community. We hold weekly prayer meetings which are integral to the growth of our church, our prayer meetings are one of the most

important services provided. We have weekly bible studies that take place at different times to allow as many people as possible to attend. 

We have regular meetings for our senior citizens, this is an important part of our ministry and we are thankful to have such a core group that run this so effectively. 

We take the pastoral care of people very seriously and we are privileged to be in a position where we can offer help and support to everyone. 

## **2024:** 

Firstly, we’d like to say a huge thank you to you all for another year of amazing work for God’s Kingdom and for all your support. These times when we reflect and look back at all God has done just empathises that we are here for a mission that God gave us: To plant churches from here to the coast, into Europe ad into the world. 

In 2023, we saw the year end with 25 congregations over 8 nations, and as we stepped into 2024, we were once again excited and expectant for all God was going to do. We ended 2024 as 34 congregations over 9 nations!! We are here today, thankful for the vision God gave us over 8 years ago and blessed He has been faithful in the provision to be where we are today. We saw LBC Kenya join us after Aaron visited. 

We are blessed to see God grow His church both here in the UK and around the world. It’s been another year full of God’s goodness and fruit, it’s been another year of celebration in all He has done through LBC. 

We do not move from the importance of prayer being the key into all of this, and what has been so encouraging is to see the other and newer congregations of LBC take up the same stance. 

For us here, we have seen bible studies, men’s and women’s ministry flourish once again. These times offer opportunities for all involved in LBC to come together and grow. 

Kids and youth work have once again been an area within the church that has grown and continued to go from strength to strength, the dedication of the teams is wonderful Oldbury have had another year of primary school contact that has and will bring fruit, building relationships with the local school is a great opportunity that God has provided. Birmingham have seen the Friday night youth evenings start and dedicate a space to all local youth to come and have fun whilst hearing about Jesus. The work that goes in behind the scenes in the kids and youth area of church is huge, thank you to all involved. We pray that 2025 will give more breakthrough. 

The day to day running of church is busy but great! We have continued to see baptisms, salvations, dedications and growth. 

During the year we have held outreach events to invite our communities for the Oldbury and Birmingham areas to be blessed. We have been able to offer breakfast drop ins over

Easter where we were able to feed children and families and provide activities. We also held our annual community outreach day in the summer at both sites where food, bouncy castles, face painting and much more was available all for free – all of these outreach events were a great success. 

Visits took place to most congregations of LBC throughout the year by Aaron visiting and preaching. A visit to Brazil and Portugal happened at the start of the year. After months of contact Aaron visited Kenya, where it was clear God was uniting us and them together, this forged the way for LBC Kenya. All churches based in the UK were visited. Contact is kept up with all Pastors, so communication is always there. 

As we neared the latter part of 2024, we saw one of the most integral people within LBC go home to be with Jesus – Ray. Ray has served LBC and God faithfully over many years. His loss has left a very huge hole in LBC Birmingham and LBC overall. There was much sadness from us all, especially LBC Birmingham and Oldbury and Iranian church – his loss has been felt much further also. 

This left a huge gap in the financial side of LBC. Initially, when Ray became unwell, Helen took all his work on as they have worked together for a number of years on the finance, so she knew what to do. Since then, we have put processes in place to enable Helen to continue to manage the day-to-day finance. We have placed Luke as overseer of the finance and treasurer. 

To end 2024 as 34 congregations over 9 nations just shows how great God is and how blessed we are. 

## **The Future:** 

Let’s run into 2025 with an expectancy of what God will do and a willingness to do what He requires of us all. 

From here to the coast, into Europe and into the world! 

We want to be able to reach our communities more, in the Oldbury area and Birmingham area. 

There are different issues that we are willing to tackle over both areas. 

## **Finance:** 

All our financial income and expenditure is detailed in our independent examination. 

2024 was a busy year, with the continuing of the vision God has placed upon LBC. The financial side of things as you can see from the report was very busy! 

The accounts have been audited by Molly Langston and Zoe Rippengal, this is the second year they have done this. 

The vision of LBC: to plant churches from here to the coast, into Europe and into world does create a financial strain, but one thing we have continued to see is God’s provision in this.

2024 was another year where we have been able to sustain the growth and the financial responsibility we have to the vision. 

We started 2024 with a balance in the accounts of £96,305 made up of Restricted Funds and Unrestricted Funds. The breakdown for these various restricted and unrestricted funds can be seen in the financial report. We finished the year with a total balance in the accounts of £81,395 which again is made up of Restricted and Unrestricted Funds. 

This means as you will see in the accounts breakdown that we had a deficit of £14,908 in surplus of income over expenditure which is due to the continuing rise in prices – you can see how much more our heating and lighting has cost this year - £14,810 compared to £8933 in 2023, we also had a big increase in the expenditure in gifts this year, this is an area that is given at Pastors discretion and are given to different needs/causes and organisations  – as detailed in the notes. We also had an increase in administration this is mainly due to the expense of the renewal of the website which does last for a few years. 

Salaries have remained the same throughout the year. 

We have continued to work hard to keep expenditure down as much as possible, cleaning items is an area where we have managed to stay consistent. 

The average income from collections in 2023 was £1265 per week, the average for 2024 was £1452 per week. This is encouraging and continues to show the support of you all. We are very thankful for your financial faithfulness to LBC. It also highlights the importance of gift aid. In 2024 we had over £14,000 from gift aid. 

We need to acknowledge that we ended the year with the finance team looking very different. For many years Ray has served LBC faithfully in fulfilling his role as treasurer. Sadly, for us, we saw Ray called home at the end of September. This impacted all of LBC, especially the finance. 

We are incredibly thankful for all the years Ray served in this area of church life and how he, alongside Margaret Sheward passed on all their wisdom. 

Helen has worked alongside Ray for a number of years on the finances, and she has now taken this role on in regard to the day to day running with the support and accountability from Luke. 

We thank you once again for your continued support and generosity as without this we would not be able to maintain the vision of LBC. 2024 we ended the year at 34 congregations over 9 nations.

## **Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of Londonderry Baptist Church** 

I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31[st] December 2024. 

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner** 

As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out  under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Basis of independent examiner’s statement** 

My examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. 

## 

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention other than that disclosed below, which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: 

- accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or 

- the accounts do not accord with the accounting records 

The matter that has come to my attention is that, in the course of my examination of the accounting records of the charity, it was noted that some transactions, mainly relating to overseas expenditure, did not have supporting documents to confirm how the funds were spent. It was also noted that authorisation of some expenses came from relatives of those making the expenses. During discussion with the trustees, it was brought to our attention that this was mainly due to a bereavement during the year. The charity trustees are aware of the importance of maintaining full records of such transactions and independent authorisation going forward.
