# **LONDONDERRY BAPTSIT CHURCH TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT 2022** # **– st 1Oth February 31 December 2022 Charity No: 1197875** This is the 1[st] Annual Report of the charity. We became a registered CIO on 10[th] February 2022. Our registered charity name is Londonderry Baptist Church. We recruited our Trustee’s and wanted a mixed board of Trustee’s who could offer up different skill sets and giftings and experience, hence we have a board of Trustee’s who have a variety of skills to enable us to run the charity to its fullest potential. **Address:** LBC Oldbury, Bristnall Hall Rd, Oldbury, B68 9NF **Trustee’s:** Aaron Jarvis, Israel Bernardis, Helen Jarvis, Ray Johnson, Diane Johnson, Mohsen Hashemi, Sarah Hale **Contact:** info@londonderrybaptist.co.uk We are a Christian church who wants to see the advancement of the Gospel. We support a number of churches, who are affiliated with LBC. Our affiliated churches work closely with LBC and the Senior Leader and Eldership team over LBC work closely with all affiliated church congregations. LBC Senior Leader: Aaron Jarvis ## **Overview:** We are a Christian church who became a CIO in 2022. We promote the Gospel of Jesus. We believe: - The one true God who lives eternally in three persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. - The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world. - The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God—fully trustworthy for faith and conduct. - The dignity of all people, made male and female in God's image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement. - The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ—born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin. - The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God. - The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world. - The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ. - The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness. - The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers—given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit's gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love. - The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth. We are committed to enabling as many people as possible into worship at our church and to encourage them to become part of our church community. We continually look at how we can engage people within our communities into the church and faith. We provide a number of evangelistic outreach events throughout the year, that are always well attended and supported LBC Senior Leader: Aaron Jarvis by our communities. During these events we are able to talk with people share our faith. We promote our services and encourage those who are part of LBC and new people to attend, we hold services on Sundays, where we also provide creche, kids and youth provision with a well trained and certified team, we encourage our children and young people to be very much part of our church community. We hold weekly prayer meetings which are integral to the growth of our church, our prayer meetings are one of the most important services provided. We have weekly bible studies that take place at different times to allow as many people as possible to attend. We have regular meetings for our senior citizens, this is an important part of our ministry, and we are thankful to have such a core group that run this so effectively. We take the pastoral care of people very seriously and we are privileged to be in a position where we can offer help and support to everyone. ## **2022:** Throughout 2022, we have seen great things. We are seeing the vision God gave coming to life and it is a privilege to lead LBC. In 2021, we saw God open up many doors in regard to church planting and He didn’t stop there. Throughout 2022 we have seen the church grow. We ended 2022 being affiliated with a total of 21 congregations over 7 nations!!! We have been blessed to see salvation throughout all the LBC churches, we have heard of the lives transformed by Jesus and witnessed baptisms over the world. We have continued to push and make prayer a priority – without this we wouldn’t be where we are today, God has continued to speak into the importance of prayer and fasting and again this year we have taken this seriously and been committed in prayer and fasting. Prayer evenings were and still are so important in all we see, this is one thing we will push, we want to see revival, we need to continue to be committed. We have encouraged our members to reach out and seek God, this is done in many ways, the bible studies, men’s and women’s ministry continues to grow and is needed. These provide opportunities for people to come together and seek God and build relationships. LBC Senior Leader: Aaron Jarvis Our kids and youth work just goes from strength to strength. Our kids and youth workers – you do an amazing job, and we are so incredibly thankful for not just your dedication to the role God has given you but for your sacrifice you make each week in the serving. We are praying we see more workers raised up, ready to be sent out. The kids and youth have had a year where their roots will have gone deeper but they have built up key relationships and have seen the church grow. They themselves have been very much part of the vision, with raising funds for churches in Burundi and Mozambique – their efforts have been wonderful! We have seen visits form local schools; God opens up all the doors! The schools have loved being able to bring their children into the church. The daily life of church has been a blessing, we have seen baptisms, weddings and dedications – the church is continuing to grow and it’s so encouraging to see. Our outreach days, with BBQ’s, bouncy castles, face painting and lots more have been very successful. We see our buildings full of people from our local communities. Opportunities arise to have key conversations. This year we really pray that not only will people come to the BBQ, but they will take the step of coming to church and meeting Jesus. We continue to have opportunities for our senior citizens to come together and fellowship together. In Oldbury Stuart took on the role of Pastor of LBC Oldbury, his time of Associate Pastor was done, he stepped in and carried the role brilliantly, it was a privilege to pass the baton on for him to lead LBC Oldbury in October. Over in Birmingham, we saw Luke take on the role of Associate Pastor in LBC Birmingham. As always, the logistical side of things can be a challenge, but we continue to see God make a provision for this as well. We are seeing LBC grow more and more, and our role is to look after all these affiliated churches and their leaders. We are praying God will continue to provide all we need in this area. ## **The Future:** We are hoping that 2023 will be a year where we will see more growth, we want to be able to reach more people within our communities, we want to be willing to go where God directs us. LBC Senior Leader: Aaron Jarvis Our main focus, again, for 2023 will be prayer. We continue to seek God in all we do. ## **Finance:** We had an income of £61,667 from tithes and offering within church. This was down slightly compared to the year previous. The importance of Gift Aid was highlighted once again, it is a real blessing we are able to claim this and substantially helps us in the work we do. We are able to have income generated through hiring our building also, this again is a real help to the ongoing costs and increases. Out ‘other income’ has been generated through sponsorship for us to send finance to help the Ukraine. We sadly had one of our church members pass away and we held a collection to financially support their family through the difficult time. Our church plant pot continues to be used to provide support to our affiliated church congregations. The ‘Pastor’s Travel’ pot is used to send the Pastor’s and Leaders to visit the affiliated churches we support; it is used solely for this. We have a number of ‘pots’ of finance that is used to support the specific affiliated churches, this money is given by our members who desire to support them. We then have specific ‘pots’ to fund our youth and children’s work, our men’s and women’s ministry groups. Our expenditure is mainly on staff costs, including pensions. We have outgoings for water, light and heating, pest control, repairs, fire precautions and insurance.
