structure, Governance and Management
Move the Mind Foundatv)n CIO is a eharitsble w)corporated organisation register&J with the
charity commission on 10 February 2022 and govemed by its constitution whose only votsng
members are ils charity trustees.
The Board of Trustees has five members as required by the Constitution. Trustees are
recruited through personal and profes&onal connections when there is a vacancy on the
Committee. Candidates are infomially assess&J by Nicole Gillard, Founder, and the Board
before being nominated and appointed by vote at the Charity's AGM in accordan￿ with
Section 10 of the Constitut￿n.
Apart from the first Charity trustees. every trustee musl be appointed for a temi of three years
by a resolution passed at a properly convengj meeting of th8 chanty trustees.
In sdecting individuals for apw'ntrnent as charity trustees, the charity trustees must hav8
regard lo the $kills, knowlèjge and experience needed for Ihe effective adminislratK)n of the
cio.
Objectives
The ¢harily s objective is to rel￿8 r*eds of children & yourKJ peop￿ wrth disabilities.
autism, ADHD, neurological conditions. anxiety, and other mental health conditions in South
West England and the yjrrounding 8re8s by providing animal assisted therapy and equine
therapy including riding and sensory work wth horses.

In shaping the obpctives for the yoar and planning activrties. the tnJs188s have considered

dectric fencing and batter￿￿.
£11,651 in maintenan￿, fuel and loan repayment costs for the horse trailer and farm
vehicle owned by Move the Mind.

During the financial year of 2023 the charity employed 2 fijll time staff members, 1 part time
and 10 volunteers. Staff salaries cost £37.266 in total during this period. Volunteers f￿1ve
per diem allowance to cover costs of transport. cknthwig and other expense5 in￿rred. Total
volunteer costs for 2023 V•we £4,004.
Training costs for 2023 lotaled £4.479 Thisfigure includes all staff and horse training. includi
bringing outsKle Iraineis in for our'Emergency Fir51 aid with equestrian course, and all other
training for the team which includes Children Safeguarding. Adult Safeguarding, obtaining
DBS checks, Rupert Isaacson's 'Training the How Boy Horse, course and other vital online
training courses. This figures also includes training of the horses, taking the horses out to
train and any instruction required for the horses lo enable them to work with the children and
young peop￿.
Move the Mind had to say a sad farewell due lo ill-heallh lo Dream, one of the longest serving
therapy ponies in the herd. A ieplacemenl pony has been introdutyl lo the fami on long-temi
loan and has settled in well.
FSnan¢lal revlow
On the 3111 Oecember 2023 the end of accounts tsalan￿ was £48.343. £35,1XJO ot this was
monie$ raised towards the stable buikl of which £I0,OIXJ is represenled as restricted fvnds
al the year end.
Reserves
The Charity aims to hold months of expenditure as reserves in th& Charity
account al 811 times.
The firbancial position of Ihe Charity at 31M December 2023 was stable with £48,343 held in
cash fun(Js on deposit. Liabilities lotaled £17,728 which induded £1.920 of accruals and
£15,808 of 8 bank loan. This loan is repaKI monthly at £374.27 and has been in pigce since

Statement of trustees. responsibllities
The trustees are ￿sponsible for keeping suffic*nt accounting records that disclose with
reasonable a¢¢uracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enablelhem to ensure
that ltte financial statements comply with the Chartties Act 2011, the Chanty (Accounts and
Reports} Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the tNst deedlconstltution. They are also
responsible for safeguarding the assets of the chanty and hen￿ for tsking reasonable steps
for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
