those who have been identified as

trafficking.

always rise to the challenge ofa big give and so
I am||| |||delighted
to report that once again we were able to support
Unseen's|Gift|| |||Bag Campaign
at Christmas
2021 and 2022 and also in the Summer of||| |||2022. We hosted a wonderful
evening
with ASIOX family and friends at||| |||Flo's Cafe in Florence Park in Christmas
2021 to wrap gifts and put||| |||together
beautiful
bags for survivors
oftrafficking.
140gift bags plus lots||| |||of gift vouchers were delivered
to Unseen together
with 2 big bags of||| |||'spare' items. Then in the Summer of2022, 34 bags ofactivities were|put|| |||together
in the hope ofassisting
mothers
in keeping their children||| |||occupied over the holidays.
And finally, a further 35 gifts for children
of||| |||survivors
and 35food hampers
were delivered
to Unseen to be||| |||distributed
to their survivors
for the Christmas
season of2022.||| |||Finally, and perhaps
most unexpectedly,
ASIOX found themselves
being||| |||invited to support a lady exploited
in the care sector through
advocacy||| |||and befriending.
This support gave her the courage to be open about|her|| |||experience
and this has led to other investigations
across the care||| |||sector, which is helping
others who have been exploited.
Without our||| |||support she would have returned
to her country
of origin
in a terrified||| |||state. Through
this work we have also assisted
in disrupting
illegal||| |||activity. We received some wonderful
feedback from Migrant
Help:||| |||"ASIOXhave made a crucial difference
in the life of my Service User,|and|| |||I have no hesitation
in commending
them
in the strongest ofterms. They||| |||are providing a very important
service for some ofthe most vulnerable
people
in society. " My thanks to Sue Brockes-Smith
and Harriet Calfo|for|| |||their care, professionalism
and tenacity
in supporting
this lady.||| |||Since the year-end,
the charity has secured a new funding
arrangement.||| |||This forms part ofthe trustees'
fundraising
campaign
to facilitate a||| |||significant
increase
in the charity's operations.
Over the coming months,||| |||it is hoped that further funding
will be secured to sustain
and increase||| |||existing
activity to more closely match the perceived
need for ASIOX's||| |||services.||| |||I count ita great honour to Chair the trustees and to reflect on the last|19|| |||months as I write this report for the AGM. My sincere thanks to everyone||| |||who has been involved,
noting that ofcourse there are many more whose||| |||names do not appear
in this report but remain a critical part ofthe team.||I| |||have no doubt that the next Chairman
report will be reporting
on even||| |||greater steps forwards
