Objectives and Activities
Found Futures exists for the public benefit, the advancement of education of young people aged 11-18 in the United Kingdom, through the provision of educational materials and information media in the industry of architecture and design, to help prepare or assist such persons to gain entry into higher education and the world of work.
This year we worked to build upon our previous achievements towards the following key objectives:
1.1 Connect with young professionals working in architecture and design to lead in delivering in school workshops as part of the Found Futures 1+1 Programme. These professionals should come from underrepresented backgrounds in the field of architecture and design.
1.2 Create a new video resource showcasing individuals from underrepresented groups participating in the 1+1 Programme.The video will be between 5-10 minutes to ensure good engagement from our beneficiary audience of young people aged 11-18 years, and commercial partners.
1.3 Gain financial sponsorship from corporations in the field of architecture and design.
2.1 Network with other organizations with existing reach in architecture, design and education, to ensure effective distribution of our media resources to schools and colleges, so that our intended beneficiaries can access our resources & benefit from Found Futures.
2.2 Update the charity website & publish all new media resources online.
3. Maintain the relationship with Brentside High School with a view to delivering the 1+1 program with a new cohort of design students, widening participation to Key stage 3 & 4.
3.1 Establish a new partnership with a secondary school or further education college with a view to delivering a full day workshop to secondary school pupils with an interest in design and/or architecture.
3.2 Partner with a professional architect in the delivery of a full day workshop in a secondary School or further education college..
3.3 Partner with an architecture studio to offer work experience for one or more students from our partner school or further education college.
Activities and Achievement, in relation to Objectives.
This was an exciting year of new partnerships for the charity! We are delighted to share our progress with you.

In October 2024, trustees met with architecture studios Zaha Hadid Architects , AHMM and PRP to discuss potential collaborations and/or sponsorship.

• In October 2024, we released another film featuring the 1+1 Programme with Perkins&Will and Brentside High School . The feature launched across Instagram, the charity website and Perkins&Will social media channels.
About the 1+1 Programme:
The 1+1 Programme seeks to inspire future architects and designers by connecting them with industry professionals and students already pursuing this career path. It includes a hands-on model making workshop led by a qualified architect, where young people interested in architecture can collaborate to realise a design idea through model making. After this workshop, participants visit a professional architecture studio for a day to learn about the workplace.

• In November 2024, trustees met with New City College and the RIBA to discuss the 1+1 Programme and views to expand in collaboration with RIBA and New City College for the 2025 edition. RIBA kindly pledged financial sponsorship for workshop materials.

• In December 2024, trustees met with Richmond Upon Thames College and London Design & Engineering UTC (LDE UTC ), and successfully forged new partnerships for their involvement in the next phase delivery of the 1+1 Program in 2025.

• In January 2025 Trustees met with St Marylebone School and HTA Design studio to discuss future collaboration opportunities on the 1+1 Programme. LDE UTC confirmed participation in the 1+1 Programme.

• In March 2025, as part of The Knowledge Exchange , trustees attended the Festival of The Future event, offering guidance and sharing insights and resources with young people eager to explore their future in design and the built environment. Presence at the event strengthened our ties with networks engaged in supporting the next generation of diverse talent in architecture.

• In March 2025 Trustees attended the careers fair at St Marylebone School, where they spoke with Year 9, 12 & 13 students, their parents and teachers about the 1+1 Programme, why we started @foundfutures and our journey so far. It was a great afternoon and we were very grateful for the invite.

• In April and May 2025 trustees met with Zaha Hadid Architects , and again in June 2025 with LDE UTC to plan the bespoke 1+1 Programme , securing generous financial support and expertise from Zaha Hadid Architects.

• In June 2025 we announced via instagram & Linked in we announced our collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects and LDE UTC to deliver the 2026 1+1 Programme work experience, studio visit and in college model making workshop. This announcement marks successful engagement with architecture studios to provide in-kind support through work experience placements and studio visits, demonstrating growing industry engagement and securing financial sponsorship.

• 13th June: Zaha Hadid Architects project delivery commenced with the 1 day model making workshop at LDE UTC campus. A 1 day studio visit and 3 day work experience placements the following week. (Video released in October 2025) Students attended enthusiastically, with support from their class teacher and trustee Jason Claxton. The feedback was exceptionally positive. Subsequently, we smashed our target of providing one work experience placement, with three sixth form students from our partner school completing work experience at the studio—an outstanding outcome supporting our mission of equitable access to the profession.

• 27th June: our second collaboration with Brentside High School commenced, this time expanding the program working with students in Year 10 and 12, marking a significant step in direct engagement with our target demographic. Two professional architects, Tunmiji Osibodu and Gloria Wong joined trustees to deliver the in school workshop, reinforcing the real-world relevance and value of architectural careers. The project design centered on the theme of Sensory and saw them design pavilion structure for their local park. On 10th July participating students joined us for a one day Studio Visit. Again exceeding our target to match the previous year in work experience provision, we surpassed expectations by providing another 3 Year 12 students work experience placements . Another outstanding outcome supporting our mission of equitable access to the profession.

• 4th July: Richmond Upon Thames College project delivery commenced with professional support from Stephanie Nell (PRP Architects) , Ivy edemafaka (RIBA) and Natalia Augustynowicz (Part II Architecture Graduate) who joined trustees to deliver the in school 1 day model making workshop, reinforcing the real-world relevance and value of architectural careers. The project design centered on the theme of Sustainability and saw them design pavilion structure for a local site to their college campus. Building upon the previous year, we also arranged for Natalia Augustynowicz to present her portfolio of work. The students engaged extremely well with her presentation, answering insightful questions throughout. Again, we plan to continue this model as it offers a real bridge between school and University study. (Work experience placement takes place in August 2025)

Advancing Access, Representation and Opportunity in Architecture and Design
Found Futures exists for the public benefit and the advancement of education for young people aged 11–18 across the United Kingdom. Through educational programmes, workshops and media resources focused on architecture and design, the charity was successful this year in helping prepare and inspire young people to pursue pathways into higher education and professions in the Built Environment.
This year marked a transformative period for the charity, defined by exciting new partnerships, strengthened industry engagement, and expanded opportunities for young people from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. We are proud to have significantly advanced our key objectives while deepening our impact across schools, colleges and the architecture profession.
Expanding Industry Engagement and Representation
A core objective for Found Futures is to connect young people with professionals from underrepresented backgrounds working within architecture and design. Throughout 2024–2025, the charity made exceptional progress in strengthening relationships with some of the most respected architecture practices in the United Kingdom.
In October 2024, trustees met with internationally renowned architecture studios including Zaha Hadid Architects, AHMM and PRP Architects to explore future collaboration opportunities and broaden professional involvement within the 1+1 Programme. These conversations laid the foundations for several highly successful partnerships developed throughout the year.
The charity also expanded its network of professional volunteers, bringing practicing architects, graduates and industry representatives directly into schools and colleges to deliver workshops and mentor students. Professional contributors including Aleksandra Mnich-Spraiter (Zaha Hadid Architects) Keyur Mistry (Zaha Hadid Architects) Adam Twigger (Zaha Hadid Architects) Liam Rogers (Zaha Hadid Architects) Corinne Wint (Zaha Hadid Architects) Stephanie Nell (PRP Architects), Ivy Edemafaka (RIBA) and Natalia Augustynowicz played a vital role in delivering inspiring and highly engaging sessions for participating students.
These collaborations provided young people with direct exposure to professionals working in architecture today, helping to demystify the profession and increase visibility of diverse pathways into the industry.
Celebrating High-Profile Partnerships
One of the year’s most significant achievements was the development of a landmark partnership with Zaha Hadid Architects. Following a series of meetings and programme planning sessions between April and June 2025, the practice generously committed financial sponsorship and professional support towards the delivery of a bespoke 1+1 Programme in partnership with London Design & Engineering UTC (LDE UTC).
In June 2025, Found Futures publicly announced its collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects and LDE UTC to deliver the 2026 1+1 Programme, including studio visits, model-making workshops and work experience opportunities. This represented a major milestone for the charity and demonstrated growing confidence and investment from leading architecture practices in Found Futures’ mission and educational model.
The charity also strengthened relationships with Perkins&Will, PRP Architects and RIBA, securing both financial sponsorship and in-kind support that directly enabled programme delivery and increased opportunities for young people.
Found Futures remains extremely thankful for the time, expertise and financial support provided by these institutions and individual professionals.
Developing Inspiring Media Resources
Found Futures continued to expand its digital and media presence to reach more young people and partners nationwide.
In October 2024, the charity released a new short film documenting the 1+1 Programme delivered in collaboration with Perkins&Will and Brentside High School. The film was shared across Instagram, the Found Futures website and Perkins&Will’s social media channels, helping to showcase the programme’s impact and amplify the voices and experiences of participating students.
The film highlighted the core aims of the 1+1 Programme: inspiring future architects and designers by connecting young people with industry professionals and architecture students through hands-on workshops, model making and studio visits. These media resources continue to play an important role in increasing awareness of architecture careers amongst underrepresented young people while strengthening engagement with schools, industry partners and supporters.
Alongside this, the charity continued updating its online platforms and publishing new content to ensure wider accessibility of educational resources and programme information.
Building Strong Educational Partnerships
Found Futures made significant progress in expanding its educational partnerships and widening participation amongst secondary school and college students.
The charity maintained and strengthened its relationship with Brentside High School, successfully delivering a second year of the 1+1 Programme while expanding participation to
include both Year 10 and Year 12 students. This represented an important step forward in engaging students across Key Stages 4 and 5.
In December 2024, trustees successfully established new partnerships with Richmond Upon Thames College and London Design & Engineering UTC, both of which joined the next phase of programme delivery for 2025. Additional engagement with New City College and St Marylebone School further expanded the charity’s reach and influence across London’s educational sector.
Found Futures also participated in careers fairs and educational events throughout the year, including The Knowledge Exchange Festival of the Future and the St Marylebone School Careers Fair. These events enabled trustees to engage directly with students, parents and teachers while sharing insights into careers within architecture and the built environment.
Delivering Meaningful Experiences for Young People
The charity delivered a wide range of high-quality, hands-on educational experiences throughout the year, ensuring students could meaningfully engage with architecture and design in real-world contexts.
In June 2025, the Zaha Hadid Architects project commenced, including a three-day work experience placement programme for sixth form students. The response from students was exceptionally positive, with participants attending enthusiastically and engaging fully throughout the experience.
Importantly, Found Futures exceeded one of its key ambitions by significantly surpassing its original target for work experience provision. Rather than supporting a single placement, the charity successfully facilitated three work experience placements for sixth form students at Zaha Hadid Architects and Perkins&Will — an outstanding achievement that directly supports the charity’s mission of equitable access to the profession.
The charity achieved similar success through its second collaboration with Brentside High School. Students participated in a design project focused on sensory architecture, developing pavilion proposals for their local park before attending a professional studio visit in July 2025. Again, Found Futures exceeded expectations by securing a further three work experience placements for Year 12 students.
At Richmond Upon Thames College, students participated in a sustainability-focused design workshop supported by professional architects and recent graduates. The inclusion of a university-level portfolio presentation provided students with valuable insight into architectural education and progression routes, helping to build confidence and aspiration amongst participants.
Across all programme delivery, students demonstrated high levels of enthusiasm, creativity and engagement. The workshops successfully connected classroom learning with professional practice, providing meaningful insight into architecture, design thinking and creative careers.
Looking Ahead
This year has been one of remarkable growth, collaboration and achievement for Found Futures. The charity has strengthened its position within the architecture and education sectors, established partnerships with internationally recognised studios and institutions, and created meaningful opportunities for a diverse range of young people.
Most importantly, Found Futures continues to demonstrate the value of representation, mentorship and industry engagement in widening access to architecture and design careers. Through the dedication of trustees, volunteers, educators and professional partners, the charity is helping to build a more inclusive future for the profession. We are proud of our youth-led dialogue and digital accessibility. All resources continue to be available on our website, freely accessible to young people, educators, and youth organisations across the UK.
We would like to extend our thanks to all those who have shown belief in Found Futures through donation of funds and look forward to continuing this momentum into 2025–2026 and expanding the reach and impact of the 1+1 Programme even further.

Structure, Governance and Management
The charity is governed by its three trustees who meet to review activities and make decisions on how funds are to be spent. We are pleased to confirm that trustees, when making decisions, have operated with good regard for the public benefit framework.
Trustee selection methods
If any of the charity’s three trustees wishes to step down, prospective trustees are first nominated by existing trustees. A meeting whereby the existing trustees are present is carried out with a prospective trustee, to ensure they understand the responsibilities they are taking on and can be relied on to carry them out responsibly. The meetings can take place virtually, for example over a platform such as Zoom, or in person. A decision about the suitability of the appointment should then be made within 48 hours (about 2 working days).
