Structure, governance and management
The Charity is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) Foundation, as a body corporate under Part 11 of the Charities Act 2011 on the 01 Feb 2022. The CIO registered with the Charity Commission on the same day.
Trustees are legally responsible for the governance and management of the charity. Trustees are responsible of setting strategies and policies for ensuring these are implemented.
Risk Management
The charity's trustees have considered the major risks to which the charity is exposed and have reviewed potential risks. Systems and procedures have been put in place to manage the risks and to mitigate any adverse outcomes.
Objectives and activities
The governing scheme defines the charity's objects as being to:

promote the study of Polish history and culture generally and in particular the study of the Polish Underground Movement during the occupation of the territory of the Polish State by the enemies of Poland during the Second World War;
-
and advance education in and to foster and encourage the preservation and better understanding of Polish history and culture generally by the preservation, promotion and development of its primary source archives of Polish history, heritage and culture.

Trustees' responsibilities statement
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to:
~ select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.
~ observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP.
~ make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.
~state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statement.
~ prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

1 General information
The charity is registered charity in England and Wales and is incorporated. The address of the principal office is 11 Leopold Road, London W5 3PB.
2 Statement of compliance
These financial statements have been prepared in compliance with FRS 102, 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland', the Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (Charities SORP (FRS 102)) and the Charities Act 2011.
3 Accounting policies
1 Basis of preparation
The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the receipts and payments basis in accordance with the Charity Commission guidance.
2 Charity Status
The Charity is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) Foundation, as a body corporate under Part 11 of the Charities Act 2011 on the 01 February 2022. The CIO registered with the Charity Commission on the same day.
3 Funds accounting
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees to further any of the charity's purposes.
Designated funds are unrestricted funds earmarked by the trustees for particular future project or commitment.
Restricted funds are subjected to restrictions on their expenditure declared by the donor or through the terms of an appeal, and fall into one of two sub-classes: restricted income funds or endowment funds
4 Receipts
All incoming resources are included in the receipt & payment accounts when the charity obtains legally entitled income.
5 Payments
All expenditure is accounted for on payments basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all costs related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with use of the resources.

- 4 Member Liablities
The members of the CIO have no liability to contribute to its assets and no personal responsibility for settling its debts and liabilities.
5 Related Patries - Controlling entity
The charity is controlled by the trustees. During the year the Trustees received no emoluments or incurred any expenses using Trust funds.
