Achievements and Performance

Para 1.20 Extensive consultation with the community
via questionnaires, meetings, open days,
social media to establish the needs of the
local residents to address rural poverty as
identified by the Rural Futures programme.
The aim is to reduce social isolation,
improve access to services and increase
social capital.
To this end developing the Town Hall into a
Community Hub has been identified as the
means of achieving this aim. The project
has achieved the planning and building
stage.
The National Lottery Community Fund has
awarded GCC £300k for the project. The
Architectural Heritage Fund has awarded
the project £50k and GCC have pledged
£30k.
Work is underway to appoint a Hub Co-
ordinator for 2 years to promote and run
activities.
In 2021 we received a microgrant of £750
from Rural Futures to be used for
Community Engagement. 1stFebruary
2023 £202 remained.
