Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.

The objects of the CIO, to be carried out for the public benefit in rural communities in Pakistan, are: the advancement of education and the relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage through the provision of food, grants, items and services to individuals in need and/or charities, or other organisations, working to assist such individuals.

Charity Commission requires the trustees of a charity to: • Select suitable accounting policies, apply them consistently; • Make judgement and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; • Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless there is a reason to believe that the charity will not continue for the foreseeable future.
The trustees are responsible for the keeping of proper accounting records, which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charity Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence to take reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
