## **Objectives and Activities**

|**Objectives and Activities**||
|---|---|
|Summary of the purposes of the
charity as set out in its
governingdocument|To relieve those in need by reason of ill health, disability or
financial hardship in England and Wales|
|Summary of the main activities
in relation to those purposes for
the public benefit, in particular,
the activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.|Provision of time in holiday accommodation.|

## **Additional information (optional)**

|Policy on grant making|**N/A**|
|---|---|
|Policy on social investment
including program related
investment|**N/A**|
|Contribution made by volunteers|**Time Away was supported by volunteers across a**
**range of specialities to assists with its creation and**
**ongoing development. There is no day to day reliance**
**on volunteers to continue its operation.**|

## **Achievements and Performance**

|Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to the
circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a whole.|**In the third year of operation Time Away has**
**continued to maintain strong relationships with donor**
**organisations including Sykes Holidays and Forest**
**Holidays. We have been pledged time in over 100**
**holiday properties which in turn have been provided to**
**the families we support. Time Away has also worked**
**on building new relationships with additional donor**
**organisations.**
**During this reporting period we awarded 113 respite**
**breaks to families. At the time of writing this report we**
**have since awarded over 270 breaks. Having surveyed**
**these families after their Time Away we established**
**the following:**
-
**100% felt that family relationships had**
**improved and they had time to bond and do**
**activities together.**
-
**77% reported their child seeming happier.**
-
**87% reported an improvement in their mental**
**health.**
-
**93% felt confident in their ability to meet their**
**child’s medical needs in the future.**
**Over 1000 people have directly benefitted from Time**
**Away breaks.**
**The impact on society as a whole is hard to determine**
**but Time Away families who have a break often**
**explain how they come back rested and ‘ready to start**
**again’. Caring for a child with serious medical needs is**
**exhausting and we passionately believe that society**
**needs to provide them with a holistic support**
**package. By looking after a struggling family when**
**they need it most, we provide a sense of being cared**
**for, not being left alone to ‘get on with it’. Time Away**
**aim to make the opportunity to have a break feel**
**enjoyable and similar to any family’s experience of**
**finding and booking a holiday. We provide a choice of**
**properties rather than just one option in one location.**
**By enabling a family time spent together we help**
**create stronger familial bonds and strengthen the**
**family unit. In time this gives the family resilience**
**which, in the long run, enables them, not health and**|
|---|---|

**social services, to provide the care their child needs long into the future.**

## **Additional information**

|Performance of fundraising
activities against objectives set|**In the previous period Time Away set out to increase**
**funds available to enable us to commit more hours to**
**developing our offering. In this period Time Away**
**engaged with specialist fundraising support which**
**enabled us to achieve our fundraising goals. This**
**helped to reduce the workload on staff, freeing them**
**up to focus efforts in the areas where their skills were**
**most needed.**|
|---|---|

## **Financial Review**

|**Financial Review**||
|---|---|
|Review of the charity’s financial
position at the end of the period|**We are tremendously grateful for the support the**
**charity has received from charitable trusts during this**
**period. The charity’s funds are in a healthy position at**
**the end of the period which means we are able to**
**develop our service to provide specialist adapted**
**breaks for families facing greater mobility challenges.**|
|Statement explaining the policy
for holding reserves stating why
they are held|**The trustees policy is to maintain free reserves in**
**unrestricted funds to a minimum of £10000 in order to**
**ensure that operational costs are covered for a period**
**of 3 months at normal service levels or 6 months at**
**reduced capacity.**|
|Amount of reserves held|**£47659.12 is of unrestricted reserves is presently held.**|
