## **Trustees Annual Report** ## **Bundles of Hope** ## **Registration number 1197576** ## **January 2022 to July 2023** Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document: _**The prevention or relief of poverty for those who have pre-school children, and to offer relief and support for those in need by reason of financial hardship through the provision of used clothing, bedding, baby food, nappies, and essential toiletries etc. for families in Long Eaton and the surrounding towns and villages to**_ _**a) Build a sense of community for those who are socially isolated.**_ _**b) Encourage an ethos of dignity and respect for all regardless of economic status.**_ _**c) Provide the opportunity for members of the community to meet and share resources to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly parenting and care, including sign posting to other organisations and resources (for example, local health visitors).**_ Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts. **Bundles of Hope runs a drop in for carers of children up to the age of 5. We provide rails of preloved clothes for people to take free of charge. We also provide nappies and other resources they may need, again free of change. We also provide teas and coffee and healthy snacks for the children. This provides a safe place for people to gather and encourages a sense of community and encourages users that they are valued and respected.** **We also partner with Baby Basics to supply Moses’ baskets to health visitors and other health care professionals for their clients.** Statement confirming whether the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission regarding public benefit. **The trustees are aware of the guidance regarding Public Benefit. The public benefits from free access the resources supplied by Bundles of Hope and the opportunity to make use of the drop-in activities. While we seek primarily to support the people of Long Eaton and the surrounding areas, we would not refuse anyone support on the grounds that they do not live in this area.** Policy on grant making. **At the moment Bundles of Hope does not offers grants as our resources are limited** Policy on social investment including program related investment. **At the moment Bundles of Hope do not have a policy regarding Social Investment as our resources are limited.** Contribution made by volunteers. **All the goods and services provided by Bundles of Hope are provided free of charge and on a voluntary basis. The volunteers, under the direction of the Project Manager and the Trustees, support the project by offering their time and effort and sometimes they offer resources.** **At times, members of the public offer various resources to help with the provision of the goods and services we offer our clients** Achievements and Performance A summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. **We supply an average of 15 to 20 Moses Baskets to health Care Professionals monthly.** **We are in contact with roughly 300 families within the community of Long Eaton; most of these people return regularly to receive benefit from the services we offer during the drop-in times.** **Clients frequently tell us that coming to the drop-in helps them socially and they share their positive experience of the project with others in their social network. This has increased the Charities standing in the community.** **We set out to provide support and encouragement to families with children up to the age of 5. The drop-in has been a tremendous success, offering support to a large number of families within the community. It was given many isolated individuals a safe place to engage with their community. The project has also been successful in encouraging sustainable parenting by encouraging users to share resources.** ## Financial Review Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period **See Financial Statement** A statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held. **Our current policy is to hold 6 months of expenses. Plus, a further 6 months of income to cover unforeseen overheads and increases in costs of services.** The amount of reserves held: ## **£12,327.** Explanation of any uncertainties about the charity continuing as a going concern. ## **None currently** The charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising) **Our principal source of funds comes from gifts given by interested individuals.
