The Trustees present their annual report logelher with the financial statemenls of the Charity for the year ended
31 May 2024.
For several years Rochford Hundred Rugty F(thll Club IRHRFCI was a Community Amateur Spotts Club
ICASCI but it decided lo become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation ICIOI in 2020 and began the process
to be come one. At the Annual General Meeling IAGMI of RHRFC held in July 2020 it was unanimously agreed
by those present and entitled to vote for RHRFC to begin the process of RHRFC becoming a CIO with a trading
subsidiary attached to il to be called Rwhford Hundred IM8gnolial Ltd. The Charity Commission accepted the
paperwork submitted by RHRFC in February 2022 the Charity Commission registered RHRFC as 8 CIO. As
part ol the process at the 12 July 2021 AGM of RHRFC Charity Trustees were appointed and a transfer of
Assèts and undertakings was approved Irom Ihe CIO to Rochford Hundred (Magnolia) Ltd.

In settlng objectives and planning for activities the Tnjslees have given due consideration lo the general
guidance published by the Charity Commission relab'ng to public benefil. induding the guidance 'Publlc Benefit,,
running a Charily IPB21'.
To promote community participation in heatthy recreation by providing facilities for playing rugby union football
and other sW)rts, lo advance the edvcation of children and young people through such means as the members
think fit in accordance with the law appertainirKJ lo the CIO.
b. Strat•gl6¥ for achlevlng obJ•¢tlve•
The Strategies for achieving these objectives include having a leam of Ru9by Football Union IRFUI lour
Governing body) qualified rugby football coaches enabled to coach rugby union to young people aged from 2
years old up and to and including those under 19 years ol age. as well as team of Coaches lo coach adult men
and women. Th81 is a minimum 0118 teams under 19 years of age as some age groups have more Ih8n one
t98m and a total figure in gxcess 01400 yrmjng pgoplè bging coached and pla￿n9 rugby gach w88k during thg
Season. In addition we njn Coaching sessions for a group of Children wih Special Educats'onal Needs, which as
membership ol around 40 young people and an LGBT team, being one ol only such teams in Essex.
To educate young people aboLrt the coft values of Rugby Union, which are, teamwork, respect, enjoyment,
discipline and sportsmanship. This is delivere(I by a team discussing. emphasising and talking lo the young
people about the meanings behind each of these lemis and enabling ￿￿n9 people to undgrstsnd these
meanings and demonstrate their understanding of the core values.
The rugby club provides outreach work to local sCh￿IS by sending our qualifies coaches intoi schools to assist
with rugby coaching for those school pupils and by offering our facilities at the rugby club lo used by local
schools and colleges. We are currently the home ground for the SEEVIC ￿llege lo play rugby matches .
c. Volunt•8rs
The rugby Club runs and ￿lieS uwn a very dedictaed team of volunteers who undertake a whole range of
activits'es and tasks, which ènabl8s the dub to 0￿rat￿.

The main activity of RHRFC is the coaching and playing of rugby foolball.

The main achievements of the charity have been to either create or sustain rugby teams at all age groups from
under 2 years of age up lo and including players under 19 years of age and adult men and women's team open
to all.

participants in rugby football.

matches and the increase in skill levels of the players.

Fundraising is primarily through member Subscript￿nS and personal membor donations. Income is generated
through th8 commercial side of the charity Ihrough bar sale$ in a separate limited company.

After making appropriate enquiries, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Charity has adequate
resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable fulure. For this reason, thay conts'nue to adopt
the going concern basis in preparing the financial siatements. Further details regarding the adoption of the
going concern basis can be found in Ihe accounting policies.

The tuslees have a reserve policy that broardty covers direct and sup￿1 costs for 34 months.

The Trusleees and Director5 meet on a monthly basis lo examine and sculinise the accoun15 as p￿sented lo
them by the Hon Treasuruer, thi5 indudes measuring perfomiance against budget and prior periods.
d. Principal funding
The principal ftjnding for the CIO comes via member subscriptions and donations. In addition, the bar generates
income and Rochford Hundied Imagnolial Ltd seeks and attracts sponsorship monies.

Plans for the future of the CIO are foremost to keep a pod ol RFU qualffied rugby coaches across all age
groups as well as increasing the number of young people joining the njgby club lo help ensure that there is a
rugby club for future generations. The plan for Rochford Hundred (Magnolia) Ltd is lo increase bar and food
income through stsging planned events Ihal attract extemal an¢J intemgl people from our calchmenl areas and
to inc￿8$? incomo via 8ttra¢live sponsorship deals.

The Members of the Charity guarantee to contribute an anM)unt not exceeding £1 to the assets of the Charity in
the event of winding up.

As the Trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the
requirements of the Charities Act 2011 1.the 2011 Act'}.
I report in respect of my examination of the Charitys accounts ¢arried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and
in carryng out my examination I have lollowed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under
section 14515llbl of the 2011 Act.

2.1 Basi5 of preparation of financlal sLitements
The financial stslements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021-
AccoLJnting and Reporting by Charities-. Statement of Recommendèd Practice applicable to charilies
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK
and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective 1 January 20191, the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic ol Ireland IFRS 1021 and the Charities Act 2011.
The fin8nci81 slalemenls have been prepared to give 8 'true and 18ir' view and h8ve departed from
the Charilies (Accounts and Re￿rts) Regulabons 2008 only lo Ihe extent required lo provide a 'lru8
and fairf view. This departure has involved following the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 published in
October 2019 father than the Accounling and Reporting by Charities.. S¢atemenl of R9￿Mmended
Practice effectsve from 1 April 2005 which has since been withdrawn.
Rochford Hundred Rugby Foolb811 Club meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS
102. Assets and liabililies are inilially re￿gnisell al historical cost or transaction v81u8 unless
otherwise staled in the relevant accounting policy.
2.2 Incom8
All income is recognised once the Charity has entitlement lo the income, it is probable that the
income will be received and Ihe amount of Income receivable can be measured reliably.
Grants are included in the Stslement of financial aclivilies on a receivable basis. The balance of
income rgcelvgd for specific purposes but not 8xp8nded during thg P8riod is shown in the rèlevant
funds on the Balance sheel. Where income is received in advance of enlitlement of receipt, its
recognition is deferred and induded in creditors as delerred income. Where entitlement occurs
before income is received, the income is accrued.
2.3 Expenditurn
Expenditure is r8cognis8d onc8 there is a 18gal or constructiv8 obligation to transf8r 8conomic
benefit lo a Ihird parly, it is probable that a Iransler of economic benefits will be required in
settlement and (he amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is classified by
activity. The cosis of each aclivity are maije up of ihe total of direcl costs and shared costs,
including sUPPOrt costs involved in undertaking eath activity. Direct C0515 attributable lo a single
activity are 8llo¢ated directly to that activity. Sha￿d Costs which contribute to more than one activity
and suprK)rt costs which are not attributable to a single activity are appDrtioned between thosa
activities on a basis consislent wilh the use of resources. Central staff costs are allocated on the
basis of bme spent, and depreciation charges allocated on the portion of the asset's use.

2.5 Investments

gains and losses, whether realised or unrealised. are combined and presented as 'GainsllLossesl
on investments, in the Staternenl of financial acbvits'es.
Investments in subsidiaries are valued al ￿st less provision for impairment.
2.6 Debtors
Trade and other debtors are recognised at ihe settlement amount after any trade discount offered.
Prepayments are valued at the amount prepaid net of any irade discounts due.
2.7 Cash at bank and In hand
Cash at bank and in hand includes cash and shcfft-lemi highly liquid investments with a short
maturily of Ihree months or less from the date of acquisition or opening of the deposit or similar
accounl.
2.8 Llabllltles and provl3lons
Liabilities are re¢ognised when the￿ is an obligation at the Balance sheet dale as a ￿$VIt of 8 past
8V8nt, it is probable thal a transfer of economic ￿nefit will b8 r8quiied in sètU8m8nt, and tha
amount of the settlement can be estimated reliabty.
Liabilities are recognised al the amount Ihat the Charity anticipates il will pay to settle the debt or the
amount it has received as advarKed Pa￿￿ents for the g(xyJ5 or services tt musl provide.
Provisions are me3sur8d at the best estimat8 of the amounts required to sÈtUè th8 obligation. Whèra
the effect of Ihe time value ol money is malerial, the provision is based on the present value of those
amounts, discounted at the pre-tax discount rate Ihat reflects the risks speafic to the liability. The
unwinding of Ihe discount is recognised in ihe Slatemenl of financAal activities as a finance cost.

2.9 Financl•l Instruments
The Charity only has finanaal assels and finanaal liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic financial
instruments. Basic financial instruments are initially recognised at transaction value and
subsequently measured at their settlement value with the exceptKJn of bank loans which are
subsequently measured al amortised cost using the effective interest method.
2.10 Fund a¢¢ountSng
General funds a￿ unrestricted funds which are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in
furtherance of the general objectives of the Charity and which have not been designated for other
purposes.
Reslricte<l funds a￿ funds which 8re lo be used in accordance with specific raslriclions imposed by
donors or which have been raised by the Charity for particular purposes. The costs of raising and
administering such luntls are charged against the specific ftjnd. The aim and use of each restricted
fund is set out in the notes lo the financial slatemenis.
