## **Our Roots Inner City Lives Activity & Impact Report**
## **Period: 01 December 2023 – 30 November 2024**
During this reporting period, Our Roots Inner City Lives delivered a wide range of activities aimed at empowering young people, fostering inclusion, and strengthening community bonds.
## **Key Achievements & Impact:**
## **Sports, Mentoring & Counselling**
- Delivered 48 group mentoring sessions and 72 one-to-one support sessions.
- Provided counselling support to over 54 young people to improve emotional well-being and confidence.
## **Partnership with West Yorkshire Police**
- Organised 6 joint community engagement events to address racial equity and improve trust between the police and Black communities.
- Cultural Engagement in Schools
- Conducted 12 cultural awareness workshops across 8 schools in the Wakefield District.
- Reached over 500 pupils, promoting diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect.
## **Youth Sports Development**
- Engaged over 120 young people in sports activities, including boxing, football leagues, athletics, and swimming.
- Formed 1 community football team now participating in a local league.
## **Health Promotion**
- Hosted 4 healthy eating campaigns and cooking demonstrations , including African dishes.
- Distributed more than 150 nutrition packs to encourage balanced diets among young people and families.
## **Overall Outcome:**
- Our work this year has increased youth participation in positive activities, reduced isolation, strengthened community-police relations, and promoted healthier lifestyles.
