|Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or services
identified in the accounts.|Para 1.17 and
1.19|netWork carries out its purposes by providing
motvatng, high quality work experience
placements and career/ business speakers to
students at state schools and sixth-form colleges
which have higher than natonal average
disadvantaged pupils (as measured by the
school’s Pupil Premium). netWork delivers a
free, practcal service to support students
regarding their career and higher educaton skills
and capabilites and advance their work life
opportunites by seeking out and setng up work
experience and specialist speakers. |Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.|Para 1.20|During the last year, netWork has expanded the
number of schools & host companies it works
with and increased the number of students it
has helped. Whilst considering the Charity
Commission’s guidance on public beneft,
netWork placed 22 students this year in a variety
of businesses including advertsing, insurance,
journalism and healthcare communicatons. As
a direct result of connectng these young people
with companies, we have both improved the
students’ workplace confdence, career ambiton
and employment prospects. These placements
also assisted the organisatons’ diverse
recruitment programme.
The feedback we have received from students
contnues to demonstrate that our placements
have broadened their understanding and
experience of the workplace and provided
motvaton and ambiton.
Here is feedback from one of our students:,
Pritesh who had work experience in an
insurance company:
“_I would like to thank you for the effort that_
_you have put in to help me during my work_|

_experience placement. I have found this experience very beneficial, and I have learnt a lot of things that I wouldn’t have known without this. I particularly enjoyed how welcomed I was into the finance team, and into the company, through the conversations we had, related and unrelated to work. Through this, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the different aspects in finance, enabling me to understand and differentiate the different roles that there are. This made a big difference in guiding me towards a career, and now I feel quite experienced in the sector of finance. Katy was especially helpful and really helped me with this; by thoroughly clarifying the different roles I can do in finance, and guiding me within this week, which I am very grateful for. I found areas like tax, claims, accounts payable and reporting interesting, as I was able to gain a better understanding of the work finance does, and I can see myself working in this specific field later. Something I really valued was seeing how the teams work together and the different roles there are within finance. Leaving this experience, I feel more motivated and excited to work in finance (or even Munich). Another thing I really appreciated was learning more about the different routes to enter finance, and this experience enabled me to identify and clarify the different paths towards this sector. For example, Jacob and Sam showed me that I do not have to take the generic way to enter finance, which really helped me especially since I am about to enter the next stage of my education, where I make important decisions about my university and career options. Everyone was very kind, approachable and supportive which really elevated my experience this week! I loved the sense of community there was in the finance team, especially since this is my first proper time being in an ‘officey’ and corporate environment, and I loved the snacks that were conveniently placed near my desk.”_ Here follows Sara’s feedback from her insurance company placement: “ _I really enjoyed my time at MunichRE! It was really insightful to meet an entire team_

|||_and to specialise in IT especially since it’s an_
_area I’ve never thought of working in. Whilst_
_I did find the tasks difficult at first, it was_
_really useful to learn how to adapt and be_
_proactive with my tasks. Working alongside_
_my manager and joining in with her work_
_was super exciting and taught me how to_
_keep to schedule and communicate_
_effectively._
_Overall, the week was amazing. Thank you_
_for helping to arrange this opportunity!”_
Barakat give this feedback from their Healthcare
company placement:
_“Thank you for making my two weeks at_
_NexGen really enjoyable! I appreciated how_
_you organised different sessions with as_
_many people from scientific services, client_
_services, and other areas of the business,_
_despite everyone being so busy._
_It was great to be able to shadow different_
_people and then get the opportunity to_
_complete some tasks myself. This was really_
_helpful as it gave me a great insight into_
_what the role of a medical communications_
_agency is in healthcare, and the different_
_roles that exist within a medcomms agency._
_Everyone was also so welcoming and did_
_their best to involve me in the team, which_
_made a big difference._
_My time at NexGen was so lovely - I miss it_
_already. Thank you for such a wonderful and_
_unforgettable experience_
.”
Morayo gave this feedback from her
experience at Aviva:
“_My thoughts of Aviva is that they are a_
_friendly yet professional company. The_
_warmth and generosity of the team left a_
_lasting impression which I am incredibly_
_grateful for. It also opened my eyes to how_
_diverse the insurance industry in jobs._
_3) I had an amazing work experience_
_placement. The only thing I would possibly_
_change is having it as 5-days instead of 4._
_This is so that the sessions can be stretched_
_across a few more days so that it is a less_
_intense process._
_2) One of my highlights was visiting the_
_Llyods of London building. It was an_
_incredible opportunity to see the rich_
_economic history of the country and it was_
_an invaluable experience. Another highlight_
_was sitting in on the meeting for Salon Prive._
_This was an interesting experience as it_
_helped me to understand the intricate_
_planning which is needed to carry out such a_|

_large scale event. I also enjoyed my meeting with a surveyor. This is because the job role interested me, despite not having any knowledge of it previously. 1) When shadowing underwriters I learned about the phoenix system. Part of this involved looking at both motor and home insurance. This led to me understanding the value of different properties. I also learned what things are likely to be insured (e.g classic cars stored away in a private garage) and things that are unlikely to be insured (e.g expensive street-parked land rovers). When shadowing claims I learned about the process of claiming insurance and the investigations that must take place in order for this to happen. When shadowing sales, I learned about the communication skills that are needed. I also found out that selfconfidence is a major part of the role. Shadowing marketing taught me the importance of truly understanding what you're selling in order to make the message clear for the clients.”_ Here is a selection of shorter quotes from some other students: “ _thank you for the opportunity to have this week at Lockton’s. It was very useful and informative and I enjoyed a lot.” “it has been really interesting and unique. I had the opportunity to visit an law firm and sit on a meeting which was amazing.”_ “ _I thought the structure of the week was effective, I really enjoyed the trip to LLoyds and being given an independent project to carry out as it helped to develop my research skills.”_ These quotes demonstrate how netWork’s placements have introduced students to areas of work they have had no prior knowledge of and expanded their horizons as to future career choices. Several students subsequently applied for internship or apprenticeships at their placement company. In the last year, we have developed and expanded the number of schools and colleges we work with – 5 in total. We have continued to work closely with schools on their careers’ programmes and introduced them to areas of industry they are not familiar or do not have

cindustry contacts with We have also expanded the number of host companies we work with to 6. In summary, netWork has continued to create and develop opportunities in the workplace environment for a number of students who are now more confident and able to work through their career options whilst simultaneously raising the bar of their own expectations and ambition. Thus promoting a positive outlook for their future work possibilities.
