The British Breeds Revival Trust was officially registered with the Charities Commission on 14[th] January 2022 and has chosen to record its first accounting period as an extended period of accounts to 31[st] March 2023. 

The Trust was formed by like minded individuals with similar interests and wide ranging experience of British agricultural animal breeds and a shared desire to conserve and enhance the sustainability of rare, at risk and endangered breeds. 

The initial period was spent setting up the Trust website and social media presence, and involved attendance with a stand at an agricultural show in Derbyshire, where the aims and objectives of the Trust were displayed alongside real life examples of the breeds they wish to conserve, in order to raise public awareness of the Trust. 

Initial funding for the Trust’s endeavours came from the Trustees themselves, who each pledged £200 set up fees to the Trust, and some Trustees gave further financial assistance by enabling the initial set up costs to be paid and some preliminary work on genetic testing to be carried out. 

It is the Trustees aim to develop further the website and social media presence and to attend more events within the coming year, whilst building on connections already made and encouraging membership to start to bring in income to enable further works to be carried out.
