Trustees Annual Report

Charity Name: The STEM Generation Charity

Charity Registration Number: 1197481

Charity Registered Address: Munstead Manor, Hascombe Road, Godalming, Surrey, GU8 4AA

Charity Trustees: Chair of Trustees, Ian Kilpatrick

Trustee, Wendy Shore Trustee, Paul Eccleston Trustee, Laraine Atkins

Financial Reporting Period: 1[st] April 2023 to 31[st] March 2024

Charity Structure:

The charity is a charitable incorporated organisation.

Charity Objectives:

The objective of the charity is to aid the advancement of education of young people, including those in primary and secondary education, in the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, also known as STEM.

Our plan is to engage with schools and provide a dashboard of performance metrics. By involving pupils in investigative science, this will encourage them, including girls, economically disadvantaged and minorities, to continue in STEM subjects at KS3 and 4, and beyond.

Charity Activities:

Unfortunately, due to the current state of the education system regarding both a shortage of skilled STEM teachers in primary education, and lack of school funding, we have reluctantly had to put our charity activities on hold.

We are hopeful the situation improves for the start of our financial year April 2025, where we will be in a position to restart activities.

Funding:

Currently our funding has been from our chairman.

Spending:

Due to our charity activities being on hold, the charity has repaid £13000 of the £17000 initial loan back to our chairman.

Signed: Date:

Chair of Trustees Ian Kilpatrick
