Review
vem
Farishta Foundation UK is a non-profit organization working since
January 2022 with a vision of improving the lives of children & families in Tharparkar and Karachi
(Pakistan) by collaborating with donors, volunteers and corporate organizations. We work in partnership
with Children and Families Welfare Organization.
We run several projects, which include, providing clean drinking water. There is a grave shortage of
water in this area, but with the generous support of donors, we have established a water purification
plant. Due to logistical and geographical constraints in this area, it is not possible to lay pipes to these
vast remote locations, hence, the only way to supply the water to these communities is via water
tankers that supply water to underground storage tanks that have been fitted with hand pumps to allow
communities to draw water locally. Sadly there are still regions where villagers have to walk for miles
to access and cary water home. With the generous support of our donors we hope to expand our
water project and also help reach these communities.
In addition to the water project, we are also running free health clinics, helping with houbing and schools,
with major emphasis on girls education.
At the best of times, the families in the Thar region find it difficult to feed their families. The current
economic situation in Pakistan has driven the people of Thar to extreme levels of food poverty. People
are on the verge of starvation.
We at Farishta Foundation, along with our partners in Pakistan, are trying our best
to feed these families.
4- Administration, record keeping and banking is maintained by the Chair Mr Mushtaq Farishta.
Accounting and Reporting Responsibilities: Charities Act 1993 and 2006 requires the trustees to maintain
proper bookkeeping record so that the financial statements show a true and fair view of the state of
affairs of the charity.
The trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and are required to take
reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other
irregularities.
7- In preparing the financial statements the trustees must ensure that all receipts and payments of the
trust have been properly recorded and supported by prudent judgment.
