NEWTON COUNTY SCHOOL PTA ANNUAL REPORT 2024/2025 Once again, all members of the PTA, Staff, Governors and Parents, have worked extremely well as a Team. During this academic year, our fundraising activities have enabled our children to access further opportunities with regards to learning and outdoor play and enabled attendance at county gymnastic competitions, together with attending many sporting activities with local primary and secondary schools. Together, as a team, we have provided resources and equipment for the classrooms; supported the County Gym Competition Team; provided a full day of activities for the Year 6 leavers; purchased equipment for the Early Years classroom and purchased outdoor resources for all children and supported the school summer festival Our thanks go to everybody who supported our fundraising events. We have received another year of funding from the Orcina Project. Our thanks go to them for supporting us once again with their very generous donation which has had a great impact on staffing, curriculum, enrichment, EHCP mental health, continuous professional development and OPAL . Newton County School Fund Newton County School PTA Both accounts were examined in March 2026 as part of the inspettion for the year September 2024- August 2025. They were found to be a true record of the activity for the year. The PTA Account deals speafically with the money donated to the school by Orcina. which has to be used for the developing and improving the performance of pupils within the school. The outcomes of the use of the grant is reported to the Charities Commission. The PTA in addition raises further monies through organising other fund raising events. The School Fund Account is controlled by the Head Teather to also have a source for fund raising monies within the school. At a recent meeting between myself and the Treasurers of both these accounts I did suggest that with re8ard to these two accounts there was a considerable overlapping and I therefore 5ugge5ted as to whether there was a need forthe School Find Account- between the time the school went into the AcademyTrust and years ago the School Fund was not used. I thu5 raised the point of why this account has been resurrected. Approximately a quarter of the income into the School Fund was from the Orcina grant in the PTA account and another quarter of the income was from fund raising which the parents from the PTA had organi5ed. Nearly another quarter of the income was from the School Lottery for which the PTA hold the gaming License. Therefore from the two Tfeasurers point of view there is a very high proportion of the income which is constantly being transferred from one to the other. A second observation was that an excellent system had been put into place by the treasurers to counter sign cheque payments by members of the senior management of the school. This ensured there was a clear paper trail. Overall I was happy about the record keeping and procedures in place for the management of the two account
