for the Year Ended 31 December 2022

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE AND GOVERNANCE

Animals Of Our World is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) not having a share capital, having its constitution and objectives set out in a document dated 06 January 2022.

The Trustees are empowered to exercise all the powers of the CIO subject to its constitution and charity law. During the year, there were three trustees (as above) and all offer themselves for reappointment.

RISK MANAGEMENT AND RESERVE POLICY

There is negligible risk in the operation of Animals Of Our World due to the Trustees having total oversight of all funds that are sent to the sanctuary in Cambodia.

Our team in Cambodia is a mix of expats from the UK, South Africa, the US, and other overseas nations. They bring a wide range of skill and training, especially having experience with and education dedicated to animals.

We pay full-time animal carers because animal care is skilled labour. Animals require a wide variety of experience and constant oversight to ensure they are safe and healthy. Our animals would not be fed and clean without our staff. We evaluate salaries based on an average local salary of about $150 compared to $500 - $1000 per month for an expat along with the local cost of living. That means we pay each staff carer $350 at entry-level and increase salaries to $450 after they've worked with us for a while. We've never paid a carer higher than that. Our highest salary currently is $400. We need at least three carers onsite to take care of our 150+ animals, but ideally more.

We invite volunteers in to help the carers as much as we can depending on the volunteer and their experience/capabilities/confidence. However, we never rely totally on volunteers and our carers are expected to oversee our volunteers and guide them. Georgia and Billy, the organization co-founders are working full-time as sanctuary carers and directors.

Our main expense areas are animal food bills, parasite prevention medications, staff salaries, sanctuary rent, electricity, and routine veterinary care including emergency veterinary treatment when needed for our animals. Our operating costs include and sanctuary supplies to clean the sanctuary and ensure the animals' environment is always clean and healthy.

When deciding how to spend our funds in regards to our Community Outreach program, we have a list of animals that we are treating, planning to treat, waiting on our list, high/medium/low on our priority list. We are constantly contacted about animals in need, but cannot practically help them all. We investigate the serious cases, then decide where to place them on our priority list.

We then act when we physically can or because we have no choice but to do something because it's a life-and-death emergency medical case. We always put out a plea online asking for financial help with emergency cases.

Deaf/Blind/Paralyzed/Disabled animals go to the top of the list as they can no longer live independently on the street and will surely suffer.

for the Year Ended 31 December 2022

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Because of the Cambodian stray population being so high, and the purpose of our mission, we are never on top of the great need of animals here. We are the only group in the region rescuing animals, which puts a very heavy burden on us. There is always another animal waiting for life saving treatment.

OBJECTIVES AND PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES

Animals Of Our World is a registered charity whose purpose is to relieve the suffering of all animals in Cambodia, and, in particular, to provide care and treatment for such animals.

Our principal activities are to provide safe sanctuary to all rescued animals in our care, provide access to veterinary care to local animals who need emergency medical care and their families within our Community Outreach program, and conduct educational workshops and seminars on Animal Welfare in local schools.

The Trustees confirm that the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit has been considered in relation to the objectives of the Charity. The report sets out those objectives and describes how they have been met in the current year.

REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES IN THE YEAR 2021/2022

AOOW moved to our new sanctuary property base in our first financial year, January 2022. It was essential for us to relocate to ensure we had an appropriate space to rescue and rehabilitate animals onsite. During this year, we started the build to adapt this space into a

sanctuary to care for mostly cats and dogs. Building firstly our two dog enclosures, followed by two cat enclosures. We then proceeded to build other specific areas - a pit-bull enclosure and a paralyzed facility. We were gifted a grant by SPCAI to build our Paralyzed Enclosure, and this allowed us to specialise in caring for those with disabilities who can no longer live independently. As Siem Reap's only physical sanctuary and thus only hope for disabled, deaf, paralyzed, and blind animals, this was essential. We extended our team in 2022 by hiring overseas, and we welcomed our first full-time carer from England onto our team. We then were able to offer two more full-time carer positions later that year.

Enclosures that were built: Two cat enclosures Two dog enclosures One pit-bull enclosure (stronger breeds) One paralyzed enclosure

Animals that were rescued into our sanctuary: 40+ animals rescued Dogs, cats, and 1 chicken

Many more animals were helped by our community outreach program, but this is impossible to calculate as our community outreach ranges from providing one Bravecto treatment to combat mange, to providing bags of animal food, to providing chemotherapy to a street dog struggling with cancer.

Animals of Our World was mentioned in Forca Vegan Online magazine, which helped us raise more awareness amongst the vegan community. We developed into the first farmed rescue Sanctuary in Siem Reap this year, rescuing our first chicken.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Community Outreach remained a focus of ours during 2022, as we rehabilitated many stray/local free-roaming cats/dogs and discharged them once sterilized. We did this by providing free medical treatment to poverty-stricken families, to treat their sick and injured cats/dogs. We ran a small mission called "Community Care" in which we asked the public to sponsor a care package for one of our outreach families. This package included living and cooking essentials and dog/cat food.

Three local businesses held fundraisers for us in the year 2022: Pomme (Bar) - May 2022

The Keys (Restaurant) - Halloween 2022 Hey Bong (Restaurant) - Christmas 2022

We attended our first Pet Expo in Siem Reap, where we had a stall to sell our merchandise and talk to the public about our mission.

With the Sanctuary construction in full swing and several areas successfully completed, we welcomed our first local school to tour House of Strays in 2022. ISSR International High School received a tour of our Sanctuary and learned more about the work we do in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Angkor Vet Clinic donated rabies vaccinations to Animals of Our World to vaccinate cats/dogs in the community. We continued and extended our outreach to a local pagoda where we began to feed, medicate, and sterilize the cats and dogs living there.

We finished building our website which helps us raise awareness of our work and raise more support, as well as showcase our adoptable animals.

CURRENT AND FUTURE OPERATIONS

House of Strays Sanctuary still serves as a home for rescued animals that can no longer live independently. We specialise in caring for those suffering with disabilities - paralyzed, sight/hearing impairments/severe PTSD, chronic health conditions requiring forever medication, etc.

We currently care for rescues across five different species. House of Strays still remains the only physical sanctuary for animals in Siem Reap, particularly one that knows how to care for the specific needs of disabled animals, and the only centre rescuing all species including farmed species.

The future of our organization consists primarily of Education & Sterilization.

We are working towards establishing a mobile Sterilization clinic, where we can travel across Cambodia with our own vet team, sterilizing and documenting every province and village we go through and surgery we do. This is how we aim to make a larger impact with our mission, by preventing suffering before it even exists on a much larger scale.

Animal Welfare programs in schools across Cambodia will create a different impact, through education. We have already kickstarted this important part of our mission by performing our first Animal Welfare presentation in ACE High School. We will continue this by working with different schools across Cambodia, hoping to implement work/textbooks for all ages - dedicated to Animal Welfare.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

This will help increase awareness about what we do and how we can help more communities and their animals in Cambodia.

FUTURE POLICY AND DONATIONS

Most local charitable organisations In Cambodia, are not sustainable for the funds raised in the country. We aim to continue to fundraise locally, to connect with the local community and increase the awareness of our mission. We plan to be involved in many different types of fundraising events in The United Kingdom and overseas.

Merchandise is currently only sold onsite at our Sanctuary, but we plan to start selling it from our office base in Billericay, Essex as well as online in order to have more reliable funds to support the sanctuary, our animals, and our work.

Most of our volunteers visit us during their travels and go on to buy a t-shirt to support our mission once they have left. Others will inquire about a fundraising opportunity. Our onsite Sanctuary tours are another way for us to increase our exposure and support in the future.

We wish to thank all of our donors. Their support is invaluable in helping us to meet our aims and we are keen to encourage others to donate and join us in fulfilling our mission so that real progress is made in promoting respect for and humane treatment of animals in Cambodia.

Approved by order of the board of trustees on 9 January 2024 and signed on its behalf by:
