## **Thieves Lane Community Garden annual report 1st April 2024– 31st March 2025** 

## Summary of activities from April 2024 – March 2025: 

Variable weather this year included longer dry spells in the summer, although it was cooler than previous years.  It was however, challenging to keep on top of necessary regular  watering,  especially  during  the  summer  as  volunteers  took  time  away  on holiday.  However, we were able to continue our work improving the front and middle sections of the garden, planting up key areas and improving the edging of the borders to clearly define it from the pathway. 

We  maintained a  regular monthly  volunteer  slot  on Saturdays,  but  switched it  to afternoons, which helped improve volunteer attendance.  We also had people visiting to attend to the garden in between sessions, to help keep on top of bindweed and continue work slowly clearing the back section of the garden. 

We were pleased to see that people were making use of the bench near the entrance. We look forward to a year of continued planting and developing the further end section of the garden.
