The Trustees of the ALEXANDRA MURPHY HHT FOUNDATION Charity present their annual report and accounts for the year ended 31 August 2024, and confirm they comply with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011, and the trust deed.

## OUR AIMS

The aims of the ALEXANDRA MURPHY HHT FOUNDATION are the relief of sickness and the advancement of health of HHT (Hereditary Haemorrhagic Telangiectasia) sufferers, more specially those who suffer from Pulmonary AVMs (arteriovenous malformations) in particular, but not exclusively by: a) Raising awareness of HHT and Pulmonary AVMs, the symptoms associated with it and treatment. b) Promoting research into the understanding, diagnosis, cause, and treatment of HHT and Pulmonary AVMs through treatments and grants related to research projects in order that the useful results of research are disseminated for public benefit. c) Providing support to patients and families suffering from HHT in any way the trustees think fit

## ACHIEVEMENTS

During the period the trustees donated £22,800 to the National Heart and Lung, Institute Imperial College London, which funded publishing of a new HHT paper by Professor Claire Shovlin. Professor Claire Shovlin is the UK expert on HHT.

The paper focuses on integrating genotypic data into clinical trial design and reporting, which holds promise for enhancing detection of treatment benefits and development of more effective therapies for HHT-associated chronic bleeding. This vitally important work would not have been possible without our support.

The Paper title is: _**Integration of genotypic data into clinical trial design and reporting in hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia could help personalize treatment**_

Below is the funding acknowledgement extracted from the published paper:

_**Funding: This work was supported by the NIHR Imperial Biomedical Research Center, and the Alexandra Murphy HHT Foundation. The views expressed are those of the authors and not necessarily those of funders, the NHS, the NIHR, or the Department of Health and Social Care**_

This was a great achievement of the charity, one we had been working towards, a significant goal has been achieved.
