Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document TAR March 2012 Tetbury Cricket Club provide the opportunity for participation in cricket training and matches for people living in Tetbury and the surrounding areas. Training sessions and teams are run for all demographics, including youth (mixed sessions, as well as dedicate boys and girls teams), men, women and veteran teams. The club provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere for individuals to join in with, including a range of open days and 'trials' where members of the community can come and try out the sport free of charge, without the need to commit to membership. Alongside cricket training and matches, the club runs an indoor training programme during the winter and cricket summer camps, all of which are available to all abilities without distinction. Fundraising events during the summer are cricket based, while out-of-season activities are more community based, with an aim of not only raising money towards the club's charitable objectives, but also promoting awareness of what the club has to offer, providing core community events and hopefully reducing elements of social isolation among the wider non-sport playing community. TAR March 2012 Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year 2025 was another successful year for Tetbury Cricket Club, with more people participating in cricket through the club than ever before. The club's continued commitment to its long term development plan has delivered sustained growth across all sections, reinforcing its posrtion as a thriving and inclusive community sports organisation. A significant development during the year was the introduction of a new Tiny Tots programme for children aged three to six. This enabled the club to introduce children to cricket at an even younger age than through its existing Under 9 provision, further widening access to the sport and creating additional opportunities for participation. The continued progression of junior players into adult cricket was another important achievement. An increasing number of young players made their debuts across the club's senior men's and women's teams, gaining valuable experience and supporting their development within the game. This pathway remains central to the club's ambition of fostering a lifelong involvement in cricket. On the field, 2025 brought success across all sections of the club, including promotions, cup final appearances and competition victories. More than 10 of the club's young cricketers also progressed into elite performance programmes operated by the county and the MCC, demonstrating the quality and strength of the club's junior development structure. Beyond its cricketing activities, Tetbury Cricket Club remained deeply committed to supporting the local community. The club continued its support of the Dolphins Recreation Centre, with members volunteering their time to help maintain the wider outdoor facilities at the Recreation Ground and support the ongoing redevelopment project. These efforts extend beyond the cricket pitches and help ensure that the wider community can benefit from a well maintained, welcoming and accessible recreational space. The club also continued to provide support to members and their families during periods of hardship. Tetbury Cricket Club seeks to offer a safe and supportive environment in which affected individuals and families can receive care, friendship and practical assistance from the wider club community. The continued success of Tetbury Cricket Club is made possible by the exceptional commitment of its volunteers. Whether through coaching, umpiring, scoring, ground maintenance, administration, fundraising or event organisation, their contributions underpin everything the club achieves. Income from membership and match fees increased during 2025, reflecting the continued growth in the number of playing members and matches provided by the club. However, income from fundraising activities reduced significantly, falling by almost 50 % compared with the previous year. During the year, the club received its largest ever grant from the England and Wales Cricket Board. This funding is being used towards the development of new changing facilities within the pavilion being constructed at the Recreation Ground by the Dolphins Recreation Centre. The new facilities are expected to be available for the 2026 season and will represent a significant improvement for the club's members and the wider community. Excluding expenditure relating to the changing facilities project, the club's primary area of expenditure continues to be pitch and ground maintenance. This investment is essential to the delivery of the club's charitable objectives and enables it to provide safe and high quality facilities for cricket participation. The club is now responsible for supporting cricket activities across two active playing sites, further increasing the cost and complexity of maintaining appropriate facilities. Overall operating expenditure has continued to rise as the size and complexity of the club have increased alongside its sustained growth. The cost of rental agreements also increased again during the year. Although the club's total cash holdings increased during 2025, its unreserved funds reduced by approximately 10 %. The increase in overall cash holdings primarily relates to funds that are already committed to specific purposes. In particular, a significant proportion relates to the ECB grant for the new changing facilities, which had not been fully spent by the end of the financial year. Maintaining the club's pitches and grounds remains critical to sustaining its activities and meeting its objective of promoting cricket participation at all levels. Without this ongoing investment, the opportunities offered to members and the wider community would not be possible. The trustees remain committed to careful financial stewardship and to ensuring that the club's funds are used effectively, responsibly and in furtherance of its charitable ur oses.
