ofthe charity
during the year||||2022 was another noticeable year for Tetbury Cricket Ciub as the club's
execution of it's five year plan continued
to be successful and which
started
with a restructuring
of the club into a company
limited
by
guarantee
and becoming
recognised as a charity.|| |||||During the year the club launched
a 3~ team and saw the creation of|| |||||further youth teams, which meant over 120games ofcricket and over|| |||||200 individuals
were able toaccess playing
cricket in a welcoming
and
inclusive
environment.
The 3"team is a key step forward
for the club as|| |||||it is the introduction
of a 'bridge'
from youth and women's
softball cricket|| |||||Into an adult hardball
environment.
This enabled, for the first time in the|| |||||club's history,
both women
and U15 girls to play in a men's
hardball|| |||||league. A quite remarkable
achievable
given where the club was as little|| |||||as 6-7 years ago.|| |||||The club also took full advantage
ofthe relaxing of COVID restrictions|| |||||and the ability to get back to a fairly normal operating
stride
in 2022.The|| |||||facility was pretty much used every day ofthe week from the beginning|of| |||||May to the, beginning
ofSeptember,
with our wonderful
volunteer
base|| |||||providing a range of coaching and training sessions for both beginners|| |||||and our more experienced
players looking to break into performance|| |||||teams, The Saturday
youth mornings
continue to expand
with sometimes
nearly 100children
buzzing
around the ground
and enjoying what the|| |||||dub is able to offer. After the challenges
ofthe previous
couple ofyears,|| |||||itwas great to have the club back at the heart ofthe community.|| |||||Outside ofthe cricket based activity, the club has been recognised
for the|| |||||significant
part it plays promoting
cricket and togetherness
in the local|| |||||community.
In 2022 the club came to the town's aid in a power cut crisis,|| |||||running
and coordinating
a community
drop in centre providing
food and|| |||||warmth
for two days while power was restored
and also hosting a|| |||||community
'party
in the park' celebration
for the Queen's jubilee. This,|| |||||alongside
a host offamily days, cricket festivals,
quiz nights and race|| |||||nights has not only contributed
significantly
to raising much needed funds|| |||||for the club, but has also positively enhanced
the clubs image and|| |||||standing
within the community,|| |||||This fundraising
also means the club will be opening a new net facility in|| |||||2023.The facility is essential to supporting
the growth ofthe club as it|| |||||provides
an additional
area where training can take place at the same|| |||||time as matches, and to which all our members
will be given free access.|| |||||This extra flexibility sits right atthe heart of being able to continue to|| |||||meet our charitable
objectives to a high standard
and is a significant|| |||||investment
for the club.|| |||||As with all charities,
it would be remiss ofus, when talking about|| |||||achievements,
to not mention
our wonderful
volunteers
who are the|| |||||heartbeat
ofthe club. Any organisation
such as this can only flourish|| |||||when
it has a wide group ofmembers
and volunteers
who want to give|| |||||back more than they get out and we' re blessed to have so many ofthem.|| |||||Whether
it is managing
a youth team, preparing
and looking after the|| |||||pitch, cleaning the clubhouse,
running
a coaching session, or manning|a| |||||stall at a fundraising
event, each one ofyou is a superstar
whose|| |||||contribution
is not overlooked
and is so appreciated.
