## **Introduction** 

This report provides an overview of the activities and financial status of Hopesavers Charity for the year ending 31 March 2023. During this period, the charity continued to fulfill its mission of supporting the local community, particularly through social engagement initiatives. 

## **Activities** 

Due to limited funding, Hopesavers Charity focused on a series of non-monetary activities designed to support community well-being: 

1. **Crochet Workshops** : A number of crochet sessions were organized, providing participants with an opportunity to develop their skills in a supportive environment. This activity encouraged social interaction, creativity, and the sharing of experiences among the attendees. 

2. **Befriending** : The charity continued its befriending service, which helped combat loneliness and isolation within the community. Volunteers visited individuals who were unable to leave their homes, providing much-needed companionship and support. 

3. **Tea and Coffee Mornings** : Regular social events were hosted to foster a sense of community. These gatherings, where tea and coffee were served, allowed individuals to connect, share stories, and build relationships. This initiative proved to be a valuable tool for mental and emotional support. 

## **Funding** 

No new funding was secured during this reporting period. As a result, the charity’s activities were entirely volunteer-driven and free of charge. We are grateful for the support and dedication of our volunteers who enabled the continuation of these initiatives despite financial constraints. 

## **Financial Overview** 

As no monetary funds were received during the year, there were no significant financial transactions to report. The charity operated with minimal overhead costs, as the activities conducted did not require substantial financial input. 

## **Trustee Activities** 



The trustees, Nike Badmus and Monica Osim, have remained actively involved in overseeing and supporting the charity’s operations. We have focused our efforts on maintaining the charity’s presence within the community, ensuring that the programs provided are sustainable and continue to meet the needs of those we serve. 

## **Challenges and Future Plans** 

The lack of sustained funding presents a challenge for the charity moving forward. In the upcoming year, we plan to actively pursue new funding opportunities to support our programs and to expand our reach to more individuals in need. We are committed to building partnerships with other local organizations and exploring alternative funding sources to ensure the sustainability of our work.
