Trustee’s Annual Report
Period: 1[st] November 2023 – 31[st] October 2024
During this period, no changes to the Trustees were made.
The Trust continues to receive regular donations, and during this period a significant bequest was made from the estate of Derek Hare who passed away in 2023.
Tram collection
With regards to the Trust’s tram collection, due to the ongoing situation with the closure of Rigby Road depot in Blackpool by Blackpool Transport, no access to the trams for restoration work is permitted.
Due to this restriction, Brush tram 634 was moved from Rigby Road depot to the East Anglia Transport Museum on a five year loan. As part of this loan agreement, EATM made the necessary work to bring 634 back to operational condition.
Tram 281 is currently on loan to North West Museum of Road Transport in St. Helens as part of their display on electric transport throughout the ages.
Bus collection
On the bus collection side, highlights are:

Fylde 77 was repainted back into the FBT “mustard band” livery

Blackpool 346 was repainted back into green and cream
-
Ribble 272 has joined the FTT collection on a long term loan from its current owner
-
Blackpool 570 has undergone major gearbox and fuel repairs following its failure in 2023
-
Blackpool Swift 554 was acquired by the FTT for continued preservation

Ribble 2687 restoration work on the wooden frame body was completed by our contractor in the Isle of Man, and should be brought back to Lancashire at some point.
Several buses are away from base, these include Blackpool 334, 519 and the Lytham Lion which are at the NWMoRT in St. Helens.
Notable contributions during this period are:
- Sponsorship of commissioning work on various vehicles by ‘Replica Blinds by PWC’ and ‘Coastliner Buses’.
Aims for the next period:

Move forward on tram restoration, specifically Standard tram 143 & EE 279

Continue the preventative maintenance of the bus collection

Identify future preservation candidates which could be of interest to the FTT
