Chairman’s Report July 2024 - Llandogo Village Hall 18th July 2024
Thank you for coming and welcome to the annual general meeting of Llandogo village hall 2024.
It has been yet another a busy year since our last AGM and I would like to say thank you to everyone for the time, effort and enthusiasm put into the hall by committee members, helpers and those who have booked the hall for their events.
There have been: race nights, film nights, St David’s Day celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries, wedding parties, a river festival and village fete to name but a few. Regular users of the hall include the Llandogo village produce association, W. I., Friday café, whist, bingo, history society and film club.
There has also been yoga, pilates, badminton and pickleball for those wanting excercise.
Once again, our most stable hirer is Llandogo Early Years which provides a popular introduction to education for local youngsters, many of whom go on to attend Llandogo Primary School.
Many congratulations to Rachel Davies and her team for providing this great start to education for so many!
We have seen successful completion of the kitchen refurbishment (and yes, I know there is still some painting to do).
Solar panels are now installed which provide efficient green energy and income which helps toward the cost of electricity.
We are also working to install outside lighting that contributes to the dark skies initiative.
We are always looking for new people to join the Management Committee or helpers to help plan or run social events for the village.
I would again like to thank everyone that makes this hall such a fantastic hub for the community.
There are more events in planning for the coming year including quiz night, race night and New Year’s Eve party… should be fun. I hope you can join us!
