**Activities:** The Charity seeks to promote equality and diversity in the arts through the Jhalak Prize and the Jhalak Children's and YA Prize. The Prize is for the book of the year by a writer of colour. The Jhalak Prize has already been specifically recognised by the Equality & Human Rights Commission as the type of action which the Commission supports and recommends.
