2. Structure, Governance and Management
Welcome Home Foundation is grassroots, community-led organisation operating in Klagon, Tema, Ghana. The charity is overseen by a Board of Trustees, with day-to-day management and programme delivery led by the Founder/CEO.
The charity currently operates from the Founder’s mother’s (Georgina Amponsah) property, providing a safe and nurturing environment for children who would otherwise have no access to safe play or enrichment opportunities.
3. Objectives and Activities
Our charitable purpose is to:

Provide safe, joyful, and enriching childhood experiences for vulnerable children in Ghana.

Deliver play-based learning sessions that build life skills, confidence, and resilience.

Support families and communities in creating sustainable, child-friendly environments.
All enrichment activities offered have been free of charge due to high levels of extreme poverty within the community.
Main Activities in 2024/25:

Weekly play-based enrichment sessions in Klagon.

Friday morning sessions within a local school, providing free enrichment activities to support children’s creativity, emotional regulation, and teamwork.

Provision of fruit, water, and light refreshments for children.

Safe play opportunities, including use of canopy, and games.

Special support for children with Autism, ADHD, speech/language needs, and learning difficulties.

Community engagement through Instagram storytelling and parent involvement.
4. Public Benefit
The trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty set out in section 17(5) of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to public benefit guidance.
Over 500 children have attended our sessions since July 2025, finding not only play but also safety, belonging, and support. Parents frequently report relief at knowing their children are safe, engaged, and cared for while in our space.
5. Achievements and Performance

Children Reached in Community: Over 500 children participated in free enrichment activities at our Klagon site since July 2025.

School Integration: Every Friday morning, Welcome Home Foundation delivers free enrichment activities to 110 children, ranging from Crèche to JHS, within a local school. These sessions focus on creativity, teamwork, emotional regulation, and safe play — complementing their formal education.

Youth Leadership: A small group of older children are emerging as youth leaders, building confidence and responsibility.

Impact Stories: Children who previously had no safe play space now have a consistent, nurturing environment. Parents share their gratitude for having a trusted place where children can grow.

Community Trust: Mothers often come to Welcome Home Foundation asking, “Have you seen Kwame?” — because they know their children are safe with us.
6. Financial Review
During this reporting year, Welcome Home Foundation received no external income from grants, donors, or fundraising.

All costs were met directly by the Founder/CEO through personal savings. For transparency, the following items were funded personally:

Reserves Policy:
The Foundation currently has no reserves. The trustees aim to secure external funding in 2025/26 to build at least one month’s operating reserve.
7. Plans for Future Periods
Looking ahead, Welcome Home Foundation intends to:

Expand early years area/programme and youth mentoring initiatives.

Continue with light refreshments alongside play-based learning sessions.

Organise trips for children, offering opportunities to explore Ghana beyond their local community.

Secure a mini-bus, additional canopies, and educational resources.

Train more youth mentors and staff to support SEN children effectively.

Strengthen partnerships with schools and community networks.

Secure sustainable donor funding to maintain and scale operations.
