## **Review of activities**

Welcome to this first Soul Children UK annual report which highlights what an incredibly momentous year this has been for us.

Having worked as a board of trustees for many months to launch the charity, it was a joy to see the first fruits last summer as we partnered with Festival Manchester. Chip and Tim led a choir of around 500 children who performed for tens of thousands of people visiting the Festival over the weekend.

We are particularly indebted to Soul Children in Norway, and to Ragnhild who leads the organisation there, for their support in launching Soul Children UK - and to the significant contingent of the Oslo choir who joined us for that first performance last summer.

Since then, we have launched 5 local choirs here in the UK, and we have several more approaching the launch pad as we move forward with our next cohort.

Almost a year after that first performance it was a privilege to join with 60 children from our five choirs, along with their leaders and many of their parents, for our first UK Soul Children Festival which took place in Greater Manchester at the end of June.

We are incredibly grateful to a number of organisations and individuals who have made all this possible by supporting Soul Children UK with their prayers, their time, their gifts and their financial support; many of whom have also committed to journey with us into the future. If you are one of these then please accept our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for your commitment to our vision.

Lastly, and most importantly, we are so grateful and thankful to God for his amazing provision, and for seeing his spirit at work in the lives of the young people who are part of the Soul Children family here in the UK.

Whatever your connection to Soul Children, can I take this opportunity to thank you for joining with us as we seek to reach young people through music they can relate to and introduce them to a lifelong relationship with Jesus.
