The trustees present their report on Christian Mission Church , the “charity”, together with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2022.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Christian Mission Church is a charity registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales number 1197172, whose objects are to:

advance Christianity in the UK by spreading the gospel (evangelising) of Jesus Christ and supporting those who do the same. This includes preaching and praying in public, visiting prisons, hospitals, orphanages, schools, and universities, and facilitating and supporting existing Christians and/or Christian organisations, or other Christian places of worship.

prevent or relieve poverty in the UK by providing grants, items, and services to individuals in need and/or charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.

work with people of all generations but setting a special focus on younger generation by teaching the principles of the Word of God (the Bible), organise youth evangelism oriented events, Friday services, Bible courses and mid-week gatherings (cell groups) across London and England.
We want:

To work within the local and broader communities to improve the quality of life of individuals, by spreading the Gospel and the good news, by helping individuals of different age groups to receive spiritual or/and emotional restoration and regain hope for the future.

To work with the youth and teenagers, organising and holding meetings, events (including Sunday School lessons) in order to instil in the younger generation Christian values, as well as the concept of healthy society, to

prevent them from falling into the wrong society or environment, including drug and/or alcohol addiction, emotional breakdowns, mental health etc.
The trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the trust’s aims and objectives and in planning future activities and setting policy for the year.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
The achievements and performance of Christian Mission Church Charity have been measured by several key indicators. Firstly, an increased number of attendees at Sunday services and other gatherings demonstrate the charity's success in engaging the community. Additionally, the growing number of members volunteering in charity projects and the success of fundraising activities further highlight the positive impact of the organisation.
The charity's online engagement has also played a significant role in its success. This includes participation in online services and other content, as well as the popularity of mid-week groups. Notably, even during the Covid-19 outbreak, the charity adapted by supporting the development of an online platform for streaming Sunday services, allowing for consistent online engagement.
Charity’s activities and plans have been greatly affected since February 2022 by the war in Ukraine. It has had a direct impact on the work of the charity as most of the members and volunteers have families and close ties in Ukraine who have suffered from the war. Multiple fundraising campaigns have been organised in order to support Ukrainian refugees and their families here in the UK, also donations were directed to support churches in Ukrainian cities of Dnipro and Kharkiv. Donations made it possible not only help people who suffered the war in Ukraine but also to financially assist our youth congregation to attend life changing conferences that are held in one of our friend churches in Germany. Donations also went towards the organisation of various community events and outings to bring our community together, to support people in need who were seeking support from the charity as well as our own volunteers and ministers, to maintain healthy atmosphere and friendly supportive environment.
The trustees consider the charity’s period end financial position and the results above to be satisfactory and expect that the present level of activity will be sustained and expanded for the foreseeable future.
Christian Mission Church Charity has demonstrated commendable achievements and performance, measured by increased community engagement, volunteer participation, and successful fundraising endeavours. Despite facing challenges related to the war in Ukraine, the charity has shown resilience and dedication to supporting those in need while fostering a sense of unity and support within its community and various ministries.
Our plan for 2023/2024
We aim to continue growing and expanding with the ways we achieve objectives of the charity. Our focus will remain on helping individuals and families being restored both spiritually and emotionally. We will also continue cooperation with other charities and organisations like rehabilitation centres not only in the UK but across Europe. Our dedication to supporting CMC London and their ministries, specifically for youth, children, and teenagers, will persist. Additionally, we will continue investing in the development of Christian summer programs. Our commitment to assisting Ukrainian refugees and their families will endure for as long as the need exists.
We aim to grow our donor base, attract corporate sponsors, apply for grants, and continue working with local authorities to raise funds and awareness for our causes. We will also continue developing our relationship with other charities and churches in England and the UK to join our forces to make the society and this country a better place.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
The charity’s principal source of funds is donations.
The trustees have adopted a reserves policy which they consider appropriate to ensure the continued ability of the charity to meet its objectives and obligations.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE, AND MANAGEMENT
The charity was formed by constitution dated 16 December 2021. The governing body of the charity is committee which meets at least 10 times per annum. Subject to the constitution, trustees may be elected by members at an Annual General Meeting and co-opted by the committee. Trustees retire at the end of the Annual General Meeting next after their appointment but shall be eligible for re-election at that Annual General Meeting.

STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES ’ RESPONSIBILITIES
The Charities Act 2011 requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year, which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the excess of income over expenditure for that period. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to:

select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.

make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.
-
state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and
-
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue its activities.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and which enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with Accounting and Reporting by Charities – Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP 2005). They have general responsibility for taking such steps as are reasonably open to them to safeguard the assets of the charity and to prevent and detect fraud and other irregularities.

RISK AND INTERNAL CONTROL
The trustees have overall responsibility for ensuring that the charity has an appropriate system of controls, financial and otherwise. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities and to provide reassurance that:

its assets are safeguarded against unauthorised use or disposition;
-
proper records are maintained, and financial information is reliable; and
-
the charity complies with relevant laws and regulations.
As part of the charity’s risk management process the trustees acknowledge their responsibility for the charity’s system of internal control and reviewing its effectiveness. It is also recognised by the trustees that such a system is designed to manage rath er than eliminate the risk of failure to achieve the charity’s objectives and can only provide reasonable, not absolute, assurance against material misstatement or loss.
INDEPENDENT EXAMINER
The trustees have placed a resolution at the annual general meeting to appoint Darja Malogoloveca as an Independent Examiner for the financial year ended 31 December 2022.

RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:

examine the accounts under section 145 of the Act.

to follow the procedures laid down in the general directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act; and
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER ’ S REPORT
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
INDEPENDENT EXAMINER ’ S STATEMENT
In connection with my examination, it can be concluded that,

(1) trustees have met the requirements to ensure that:

proper accounting records are kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act; and

accounts are prepared which agree with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Act; or

1 . Accounting policies
The principal accounting policies which have been applied in dealing with items which are considered material in relation to the charity’s financial statements are set out below. The accounting policies have been applied consistently throughout the year.
Basis of preparation
Receipts and payments method of preparation adopted as charity has a gross income less than £250,000 during the year. It consists of an account summarising all money received and paid out by the charity in the financial year, and a statement giving details of its assets and liabilities at the end of the year. Accounts prepared in accordance with the 2008 Regulations and the applicable SORP.
Accounting records
Christian Mission Church Charity maintains accounting records as required by Part 8 of the Charities Act. Annual statements prepared according to records in which transactions and events with all the relevant invoices, receipts and other associated documentation.
2. Contracts and commitments
No capital expenditure had been contracted for as at 31 December 2022.
3. Contingent liabilities
Christian Mission Church Charity had no contingent liabilities as at 31 December 2022.
4. Control
Christian Mission Church Charity is not under the control of any other party.
5. Trustees’ remuneration and related party transactions
Trustees make donations to the charity and do not reclaim out of pocket expenses.
6. Taxation
The charity is a registered charity and accordingly is exempt from taxation on its income and gains where they are applied for charitable purposes.
