Activities
We provide advice, kidney health education, advocacy services and support kidney patients and their families, especially Black patients, to navigate government systems. We raise awareness about the inequalities they face in the healthcare systems, so we campaign to ensure that government decisions consider their needs, and raise awareness about the prevention of kidney disease and organ donation.
Objects: 1. To Advance The Education Of The African-Caribbean Community And The Public In Health Care And All Areas Relating To Kidney Disease, Transplant, And Organ Donation.2. To Preserve And Protect The Health Of African-Caribbean Kidney Disease And Transplant Patients And Their Families Of Greater Manchester By Providing And Assisting In The Provision Of Facilities, Support Services And Equipment Not Normally Provided By The Statutory Authorities.3. The Prevention Or Relief Of Poverty Or Financial Hardship In The African-Caribbean Kidney Disease And Transplant Community By Providing Or Assisting In The Provision Of Advice, Education, Training, Healthcare Projects And All Other Necessary Support4. To Promote Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit By Preventing Kidney Disease And Transplant Patients From Becoming Socially Excluded, Relieving The Needs Of Socially Excluded People, And Assisting Them To Integrate Into Society.a. Providing A Local Network Group That Encourages And Enables Members Of The African-Caribbean Kidney Disease And Transplant Community To Take Part More Effectively With The Wider Community.b. Increasing, Or Co-Ordinating, Opportunities For Members Of The African-Caribbean Kidney Disease And Transplant Community To Engage With Service Providers, To Enable Those Providers To Adapt Services To Better Meet The Needs Of The Community.
