Activities
The object of Football Rising, as set out in its Constitution, is to promote equality and diversity for the public benefit by supporting female athletes and sporting leaders in marginalised and excluded regions to realise their full potential and be exceptional and inspirational on and off the field. In doing so, we pursue strategies including:
-
Uniting pioneering football organisations in marginalised football regions to exchange and build solidarity;
-
Connecting global funding with local expertise to deliver projects designed by and for athletes and leaders to strengthen football, education and leadership; and
-
Creating professional and inspirational media content to amplify positive stories of athletes and sporting leaders.
The initial six months of operation of Football Rising were focused on developing governance arrangements, recruiting an additional trustee, building relationships with our partner organisations and investigating funding possibilities. With the support of 17Sport, Football Rising developed a strategy and business plan with input from partner organisations following consultation. During the reporting period, two meetings of the trustees were held, on 27 January 2022 and 17 May 2022.
